This is lovely and just what I was looking for, for my diner/lounge. I use a wide make up brush for spreading glue evenly on a large surface :). Thank you for your hard work

Hi Julie, I love your videos, I created one of your beds but change the size for a barbie doll, but I am not sure what do you mean by emulsion is this regular latex paint or acrilic?
@JulieWarren Жыл бұрын
Hi Nohemy, thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying the videos. Yes, emulsion paint is regular household internal 'wall' paint. It's a water based paint. Here in the UK, you can buy little sample pots, I'm sure it's the same in the US, which are great for miniature projects!
@lavadodhugo51813 жыл бұрын
I love your work. ALL OF IT! I just watched you create a bed,stunning, I don't like glue on fabric.So what if I ironed the beding to give it that smooth look and instead of glue at the corners use pins hidden in the folds to hold down the corners?
@JulieWarren3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Lavado. Yes, of course, ironing and pinning works just as well. It's just to prevent the 'floating' blankets look. :)

I am interested in making this table and chairs, and in fact, use many of your designs to make a doll house for my granddaughters. I am very new to making miniatures, and am wondering if the type of wood you use along with wood glue will hold up to children’s play. Thanks.
@JulieWarren3 жыл бұрын
My furniture isn't really designed for children, so I can't guarantee the pieces will work as toys.

Julie Warren I will have to look for the book! I made a 1:6 scale bed using your video. Had to scale it up a bit and make it sturdy enough to be played with. Everyone thinks I bought it. They can’t believe it’s handmade. :)
@JulieWarren7 жыл бұрын
That's wonderful! Most of my designs work really well in 1:6 scale. The book is available from Amazon, here is a link: www.amazon.com/Dolls-House-Furniture-Projects-Scale/dp/1519705638/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506614647&sr=8-1&keywords=step+by+step+julie+warren also, I have done a video preview of the book, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHq4daZqg7igjc0

Hi Julie - just found your site - Love what you do - i am brand new to minatures - could you tell me the wood you recommend is it suitable for children to play with or is it not very strong and breakable
@JulieWarren6 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra, I wouldn't recommend this wood for children's toys, as like you say, it's probably not robust enough.
@sandraoreilly85776 жыл бұрын
Julie Warren - Hi Julie - is there a wood that you can recommend instead that can be cut with a craft knife - not had much experience sawing wood - also thanks for the quick response much appreciated
@JulieWarren6 жыл бұрын
Do have a look at my video, Tips for Working with Wood, which you might find helpful. The bits I make are for display rather than actual play, so I can't really advise what would be suitable for children, but the video gives advice on types of wood too, including 'hardness ratings' so that might help you.
