I saw that, I have a minor quibble with it and hope it will be corrected in production. The metallic green one that I have has the orange marker light at the far end of the lens that is set into the bumper (per the real car). The pictures of this new release don’t appear to have that.

Thanks for the info. One wonders why BoS stuck to these kind of windows given the obvious drawbacks. My worst example was on the early 1950s Buick Special.

Its because they dont really require "tooling". They are likely laser cut from sheets.

thanks for explaining how to do it. i suppose if a simpler rear windshield is bowed out in the centre but is still sticking on either sides, you'd first want to break the seal in one corner using a thin knife or something, so you can straighten out the misalignment or tension and then restick it rather than trying to just stick the bowed out center section.

Yeah. On flatter windows, once i have relieved the tension, they sit so nicely you can get away without glue. These Buick rear windows are a worst case scenario.

I used to get so frustrated with the bulging windows and other quality control issues with BOS. I have the ‘74 Estate Wagon and I think for the most part my windows are flush. I know I checked it over carefully because this was a pet peeve of mine with these models. They made some nice American land yachts but the QC plagued many of them. Now without a US distributor it would be a nightmare trying to get replacements for defective products. They did seem to improve some with later releases but they have really scaled back their releases and everything they have put out in the last few years are old issues in new colors. I wonder if all the returns with damaged BOS models was a big part of why American Excellence ceased operations. I’m sure they lost a lot of money on that, I had probably close to a dozen myself over the years.
