10:30 White beds can be coloured by just putting it next to the dye in the crafting table, so there's no need to make another one for the advancement. But seeing as how you also needed it, it was a good excuse to do it anyway.

Being able to see everything reveals that everything is kind of flat, and ruins exploration and discovery which are meant to be happen with limited view distance

@@DarkPaino I think ilmango said it in a previous episode, but if a pig gets struck by lightning it is converted into a zombified piglin - has a chance to drop gold nuggets and gold ingot(if killed by a player)

@@jochem3634 That's totally beside the point If monsters spawn during the night, they'll either roam around during the day (and can be dangerous aka skeletons with a helmet) or create loots that the foxes might pick up (rotten flesh and weapons) He explained all that already

The reason the auto-sleeping setup didn't initially work in survival mode is that it wasn't the same as the creative design. If you compare the creative design 23:01 and the survival design 23:46, the latter has one prismarine block 1 block too high.

I wonder if you actually need the tripwire for the sleeping setup, or if you can just keep the trapdoor always open. Since the mob's ai can't tell the difference between an open/closed trapdoor maybe it uses the same detection for getting out of the bed

You know you can swap which item is first in the anvil to get a different enchant cost right? It can sometimes be a huge difference, so you should definitely do it Its so painful watching you just toss the armor/tools into the anvil without checking price

@Quietust It does matter, because at level 40 it becomes "too expensive" and can't be further enchanted in survival. If he got another looting 2 sword now he might not be able to add it now.

when discussing the snow layer ideas, my initial thoughts are (1) don't you need silk touch to collect snow layers...? and (2) why would you need light for night time? I thought the whole benefit of the double snow layers was that other mobs couldn't spawn on them? unless the foxes don't spawn under a certain light level... okay well I did not know there was a crafting recipe for them okay nice 🤣 the HORDE of mobs omg sure is a good thing you got better armor ooh Far is a good disc

Hey Mango!! Just a heads up on an issue with your fox farm. Now that you've added a second layer of snow the foxes are slightly higher off the ground and the top slabs on the wall will actually break the line of sight to the chicken. I ran into this issue as well, and just removed those slabs and the farm resumed working. Really enjoying watching your series and following along in my own single player world.

If you want, you could use a water stream with fence gates at the very top of the mob farm to sort out the creepers and witches from the undead mobs and have them fall into the void in a seperate chute. That way you can focus solely on the zombies and skeletons for a better chance at getting iron!

@@xavierweber5771 undead mobs sink in water whereas the others float so if you have the bottom line with open fence gates at the end of the existing water streams then have water on top of the fence gates going to the side you can seperate them because the creepers and witches will float off to the side to a seperate chute and the undead mobs will sink through it and drop into the main chute

You could have actually just used water streams for the sleeping machine. Have you considered building additional fox farms next to the existing ones? Assuming the biome is large enough, that shouldn't be too hard to do and getting the building blocks and the snow layers is not too bad either. Instead of using two layers of snow, you could have also used redstone torches. They don't melt snow layers at all

Combining the armor from the mobs you kill like that is really neat!! I just wish this was more practical in a "real game." Maybe mobs actually have useful enchantments (so Mending is much more common than Bane of Arthropods) and combining them doesn't require the huge iron sink of an anvil. But it was a really neat way to get good armor without any of the usual ways you go about it! Also, the title had me scared D:

You probably already caught it, but you lowered that block adjacent to the trapdoor in your test world, but didn't do the same in the creative world. I think you'll wake up randomly on either the trapdoor or that block. Also, and maybe this is too picky, but if you combine weakened tools, the total durability is greater than the sum of the parts... you can gain a little by combining two almost broken shovels and then use that one up... Loving the series!!

I know it's useless nitpicking, but you could slightly simplify the afk bed. Just place a single redstone dust directly underneath the tripwire hook, it doesn't need to go into a block since the hook itself powers downwards. Also, as an interesting side note a chest also happens to be the perfect height to click the bed. Useful to remember if you're building one in a place without snow.

From what I have seen it is almost certain that items carried by an Enderman will fall through single thickness slabbing when killed. I don't know if it's more common in a Skyblock world than a normal one but I've seen it happen many times in videos. It can happen with other mobs too but appears to be most likely with Endermen. Always kill things on a full block or with a safety platform beneath a single slab platform to be sure.

The reason foxes can spawn on non-full blocks is because they have a "no restrictions" condition in their spawn settings. All other land mobs (except parrots, i think) have the "on ground" condition, which means the block they spawn on must have a full top surface. I can't tell if this is an oversight or if it's intended to allow foxes spawning in snow filled biomes. It may be the latter because i have seen bug reports complaining that foxes are supposed to be able to spawn on snow but get blocked by snow layers. But if that's the case, it's strange that other cold dwelling mobs (goats, rabbits) aren't given the same treatment.

A bed can eject you directly into a composter, which removes the need for the redstone. Composter one block lower than the bed and you're sorted.

While Mango is one of the most technical players I've seen play this game, his survival decisions are a bit questionable. Either way, glad to see more Skyblock!
