Personally, I think the discounted prices for curing a zombie villager is a cool mechanic. But I do agree it’s OP that you can keep curing villagers to get all prices down to 1 emerald. IMO, you should get a discount for the first cure, but the prices don’t continue to decrease for additional cures
@voidphilosopher42
@voidphilosopher42 Жыл бұрын
Agreed, either cap the discount or maybe give it a reset timer it could be a long timer to not completely drop the mechanic, it does make sense to give the guy(s) who de-zombified you special treatment, but for life??? They are merchants right? a villager's gotta eat. Those that really want the 1 emerald price could still get there, but will need to work for that goal for each buying spree, that would make the setups that allow redoing the cure process more useful instead of the one time thing it's now.
@superdan2593

When you have access to unlimited emeralds with iron, melon, pumpkins or anythings else easy to farm (raid farm) curing villagers does not really matter. Villagers are still OP.
@SuperSpatman
@SuperSpatman Жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying but, by the time you're able to convert zombie villagers, especially in skyblock, you're quite far into the game and you've had to do all the steps for villager breeding, xp farming, building the conversion/ trading area, getting golden apples and potions (which is, these days, extensive nether exploring, minimum). While that does mean you've probably got farms galore, I think it's nice to reward the grind that you've already done with easy, cheap trading. By this point, you've probably done loads of single trades, or even a few unfortunate full kit purchases. It's simply a nuisance to gather and bring hundreds of different resources to trade for emeralds at that point. I compare it to when they made infinity and mending mutually exclusive. I've grinded hard to reach the point where I even have those enchantments available and can afford to combine them. And yes, i know that I have 5 double chests full of arrows but.... just let me have them.

I prefer Sharpness V on the sword, Smite V on the axe. Allows you to one-shot zombified piglins precisely without slightly damage and angering others with the sweeping attack. you already know but in case other viewers don't, it's crucial to get all the book trades at once and not pick a specific enchant. This is the greatest single player voidworld ever done. More technical and efficient than anything I've seen. A new standard has been set.

I spent considerable effort trying to make similar compact villager trading halls, but for some reason it didn't work out as well for me. After getting fed up with villagers taking the wrong workstations, or not taking one at all, I eventually just gave up and added a 1 block space between each cell; the larger footprint was a small price to pay for not having to worry about any of that.

I know I'm a couple months late to mention this but to answer your question as to why you would build redstone for your villager hall is for more than sorting out villagers. Having a redstone powered villager hall has 2 uses, first being the sorting of villagers as you mentioned. The second is to reroute to an auto zombie villager facility so you can get better trades. You can send them back and forth to this facility infecting and curing the villagers repeatedly when their trades get bad.

Hot take: For just regular survival, Smite is superior to Sharpness for the sword with Sharpness on the axe. The mobs that you will run into most and can swarm (like Zombies (and all their variants), skeletons, Phantoms, etc) are 1 hit kills with Smite and easily disposed. Creepers and Endermen can be taken out with the axe and if you're swarmed by them, it's best to run than try to fight.

not sure how often you plan on traveling to the witch farm but it might be beneficial to connect the ice-highway to it for fast transportation and better storage.

i do the same when it comes to trading, if you dont do the convert trick and dont use a raid farm (or use a more normal raid farm, for totems of undying mostly) trading is actually quite good. and is quite cool using the different farms to gather materials to trade with the villagers also.

Next time you're struggling with iron & buckets and need to place a lot of water, you can make a rudimentary ice farm and grab ice blocks instead. That way you can stack up to 64 ice in a single slot (rather than 1 slot used per 1 bucket of water), and no iron is required. Then simply place the ice where you want a water source and break it :)

When playing with the villagers in creative, I'm pretty sure some villagers were unemployed because when you spawned them in as quickily as you did, they would sometimes take the workstation of another villager before they could claim it, making them both stuck. Shouldn't be a problem as long as you trade with them before they are sent to the hall, don't leave spare workstations in the hall, or somehow have multiple villagers enter the hall at once.

Personally I don’t like to do the whole zombification process to get the villagers all down to 1 emerald either. Not neccesarily just because it’s too op, Even though they’re just a bunch of code, these are still basically people, and it doesn’t seem that humane to force them to give you a good deal by turning them into zombies. Same with having little 2x1 trading cells, I like to just have them in a regular village-like environment, it just seems more humane.

This aspect is... Difficult to avoid without removing ability to zombify and then cure villagers. The cell aspect is only avoidable via one of two means, coding the villagers to require a minimum amount of space in order to be willing to trade(maybe be a comfort based scoring system aka terraria style) or removing trading outright. I disagree it's too op though, as all it really does is reduce the tedium of enchanting or buying the items. So now I'll be selling even more sticks to get the same result. Increasing the time it takes does not make something harder.
