What is the name of the tool insert gear on crankshaft? Where to buy it?

How far is the sprocket pressed onto the crankshaft? What tool number was the pressing on tool? I cant find anything like it. That guy is awesome, really professional workmanship

the sprocket is no spare part. VW says that if you want to replace that sprocket, you had to replace the crankshaft too.

BB Warlock no, you buy the genuine vw chain kit and it comes with a new crank sprocket included too. I need to change mine but i dont want to start it, take the old sprocket off then cant press the new one on. Got all the parts, must need that press tool

​@@christopherwilson6527 the official VW sparepart catalog says that the sprocket is no spare part. i searched on google for the sparepart number of the sprocket and found a complete chain kit from vw. maybe this is a development from vw after thousands of worn spare part chains. hopefully this lasts longer than a simply chain and guide change. please send your expiriences with that.

This procedure should be done in every yearly maintenance of your 1.2 or 1.4 TSI engine. ;)

cars having TSI enigenes - VW group have a maintenance period of 2 years, chain change is done every 100 000km

Lol i have mine for 7 years and i never changed a chain and it still runs like a dream.. the chain is there so it's maintenance free.. a timing belt needs to be replaced every few years or every 100k km.. you guys know nothing..

@@Nubs0610 yes,l put chain set for new model on old model,but you must change both sprocket,becose the new chain is wider.You must change cranchsaft sprocket too.
