Other than my usual beef about holes in the fuselage for footsteps it looks like a pretty decent kit. One thing I did observe is it looks like Trumpeter didn't know the second seat has full flight controls. I see an attempt at the basic instrument panel but nothing else. Love to see a 1/32 Kate to go with this 👍

Hmmm...I was expecting much more complex engineering. This looks like upscale GWH kit in 1/48. Definitely will buy it. Will I love it? I am not sure TBM Avenger is still champion of Trumpeter's 32 scale.

Wow, going to have to get one. This will go nicely with their SBD Dauntless kit. Battle of Midway display! Here I was trying to get everything in 1/48 and now, its all coming out in 1/32. So, I have double the amount of kits to build, and after building a 1/32 kit, I kind of don't want to do the same aircraft in 1/48. First world problem I guess...

I know the feeling! This is going to be my first 1/32 scale kit... now I have a 1/72, 1/48 AND a 1/32 collection of planes haha!

1/48 is for kids or people with no space, built them all when I was young when I lived in one room. Then you get bigger but the planes don't. Kinda like going back to your old high school for your 20 year reunion and looking down on the lockers instead of up at them. The larger scales also open up new ops for motorization and lighting, more detail. All my 1/32 Scales are motorized with hidden rechargeable batteries and hidden or disguised switches. They just look like really trick models but they run! Then came the 1/18th ... That's building them. As far as collections go I have many scales but hey if you've got that collector gene you've gotta keep yourself in check. As far as Global problems go I prefer 1st class. Have fun building and collecting.

Way back in the day I coveted 1/32 scale kits because they were rare. Back then (late 60's) only Revell was really putting out kits in 1/32. After settling for 1/48 scale for most kits, 1/32 always seemed huge.

There were also Hasegawa kits in 1/32 (Spitfire V, Hellcat, FW 190, Me 163, F-104, A-4E/F), but; yeah; they were more expensive and harder to get because they were imports.

Questions, I have questions... 🤔 Will there be a twin-.50 mount for those who want to build a VT-8 "Midway" mod? Or will one have to rob an SBD-2/3 kit? Will there be a "Coral Sea" load-out mod? (Six 100lb. bombs and their racks plus Norden bombsight.) Will there be any other aftermarket resin and/or PE sets? (Interior? Exterior/Engine?) It looks pretty big! How does it compare to, say, the Monogram B-17G? Bigger? Smaller?

IIRC, someone (can't remember who) put out a *very* limited edition (something like 50 or so in order to re-coup what it cost to make the molds) vac/resin backdate set for the Revell 1/48 B-17F back in the late '90s or early 2000s. He wanted $200 per, but from what I saw in the box it was well worth it.

They did... .everything was auctioned off... I am the new owner, Brandon Lowe. Green Putty is unfortunately gone for good due to the factory that produced it being gone. I have moved over to using Tamiya's putty... it works pretty good.

@@HootOwl513 Ah, a one true scale compatriot?! Glad to see that I'm not alone here on YT. It still seems incredible to me how quickly 1/48 took the throne away from 1/72. It also blows my mind that there are actually enough people building in 1/32 & 1/24 to warrant making new kits in these scales. I mean that Devastator's gotta be at least as big as a 1/72 Wellington or bigger wouldn't you say?! What do you think of this new trend of 1/35 aircraft? Didn't they make 1/32 armor at one point so folks could put their armor with their aircraft? I'm guessing it's the same story as how certain manufacturers swear by 1/200 for oversized aircraft while others go with 1/144. Although 1/72 makes up the entirety of my builds & stash; My first 1/144 kit will be arriving on Monday. I decided that I would build post-WW2 to 1980 plus sized aircraft in 1/144 scale a while back. I already had the KC-135, C-130, B-52 & RB-36H in 1/72; I just had no idea where I was gonna put them. I passed them down to my son & opted to replace them with half sized models to save space. Of course I lead off with the B-52! What's your favorite warbird?

@@athelwulfgalland My favorite warbird is the North American Aviation B-25 Mitchell and its Navy/Marine variant the PBJ-1. While my middle name is Mitchell, I was influenced very early on, by my parents letting me stay up late and watching a Late Show TV rebroadcast of ''30 Seconds over Tokyo.'' I've built several B-25 kits in my time. A lot of my high school era planes were destroyed by my kid nephews while I was overseas, Who took them out to a desert canyon and ''flew'' them off a cliff. I have about 3 or 4 Mtchells in the stash lined up. The ones not 1/72 are '50s era box scale. I like 1/76 and 1/72 scale for WWII tanks. At one time [1980s] I was wargaming and liked real, but smaller models for kriegspieler play -- in lieu of square cardboard counters. 1/87 [HO], 1/76 and finally 1/72 when I had to relent to the bigger scale to get kits of rarer models that were mission critical to my game. I liked the 1/48 aircraft when I was younger, but for space the 1/72 are easier to display. Also you can actually see the size relation between a 4 engine bomber and a pursuit job of the same era. I do have a Monogram 1/72 B-52 [VN Era bomb truck]. I need to find a 1/72 X-15 and couple it to the BUFF as the mother ship...
