I love that adapter , I use my impact wrench a lot when building decks , those long lag bolts put a lot of stress on my impact driver , that adapter saves me a lot of time because now I don't have to lug around 2 tools , I can now put in the smaller screws with my impact Wrench too ...👍

Just picked up the dewalt one for my Ryobi P262 after watching this last night. Super happy and excited. Especially since most of my work I do is on the go so this helps with weight not having to pack both. Most power impact driver I have now haha. So glad I found your channel!

Here is my theory of why the impact wrench did worse than the impact driver: The impact driver is optimised for soft torque, this is needed so it can last longer without starting impacting, making driving screws into wood much faster. The impact wrench is optimised for hard torque as it would be used mainly for bolts, it has a weaker spring so it can start hammering faster, and so it has to tension less from your elbows.

I think the Impact Wrenches don't have as high of RPMs, especially compared to that M18 Fuel driver, it's like 4200rpms. I bet that wrench has less RPMs. I don't think the spring would be weaker in the wrenches because, I could be wrong but, the spring's resistance is part of what helps make for more powerful whacks. The bigger the impact, the bigger the spring's get. Bigger motor drivers heavier spring, swings heavier hammer = more ugga-dugga XD

It’s very interesting how this is becoming more common knowledge now. I can personally recommend getting the PT adaptor that is available at O’reilly’s Auto Parts. I got the 3/8 to 1/4 hex to use on my 12 volt XTreme DeWalt, and it’s the Cats meow! 😁 Just check them out carefully and check for good machining and minimum run out. I bought these, for those of you that want to grab these right away like I did, read the reviews.. mine jammed up on me right away and trapped my bit extender. Great idea, crappy execution on these cheaper adapters. It seems to be hit or miss so buyer beware. I still have a Ryobi version of this that came with my first green Ryobi 1/2" Impact wrench back in the day. Genius idea. I had problems breaking the 1/4" adapters until I bought some Bosch ones, haven't broken one in years. They must use really good steel in them.

Dewalt had this adapter out for a few years. I used it a few times on certain projects and it came in handy. Yes, i totally agree with you on using the correct tool for task at hand. Just nice to know in a bind you can use certain adapter to help you out. Don't worry TRZ did the review first, second was you, Third will be VCG. Those guys are too macho to deal with little stuff like this. Just kidding, LOL...they're fun to watch.

This is super handy. I currently don't need it because I have a Bosch Freak, however if I ever need a replacement for such tool I'd happily go for something with higher torque like an impact wrench + the 1/4"collet adaptor.

I got one of those for my M12 stubby i keep in my trunk. That way I can take off the lug nuts and drill out a nail hole for patching with the same tool.

Can't decide if i should get a impact driver with a drill Chuck via adapter. 1/2 inch Impact Wrench with a hex adapter for turning it into a functional impact driver. Leaning towards the impact driver since it can do the jobs of all three. The loss of efficiency is fine as long as the job gets done. While the impact wrench adopter would need another adopter for a drill for drilling. That's compounding the loss of efficiency. Is my thought process rational?

I'm just at this fork in the road right now, I'm going to pick up one tool and 95% of times it will be for screws but now and then I will want to remove nuts. Do I buy an impact wrench or impact driver. I straight away thought impact wrench as it can do both but was wondering how it feels when driving in a screws and is there still the same amount of feel in the hand e.g. soft start and not to go too far in? any suggestions

If you're driving any amount of large screws on a day to day basis the adapter on an impact wrench will save you a lot of headache with overheating drivers or getting getting replaced all the time

Did you do the video of impact driver vs impact wrench where you start at maybe a 5/8 2" lag then one by one increasing to a 5/8 10" lag to see where the impact drivers speed is not able to beat the impact wrenchs torque

that depends on what battery you use. I recommend you use a 3ah, 4ah or 6ah on the impacts

Seems like it's about as beefy as any hex collet would be. Assuming it's well made, if you're just driving screws I would think an adaptor like that could last a long time. For bolts you would just use the anvil head.

I have a legit question. What does driving screws into a log prove? You can buy the cheapest piece of crap tool and it will drive screws. Put up rafters 8 hours a day with a impact wrench that has a gimmicky attachment then tell me how you feel about it. I'll bring it up on the jobsite and try not to get laughed at

Umm it's not to replace an impact driver it is a cheap way to turn an impact wrench to driver in a pinch. Pretty common sense, did you really think someone is going to dedicate their impact wrench for driving screws? Same idea as using a 1/4" impact adapter to socket adapter.

Your first question was negative feedback. Your goal was to insult me not ask me a legit question. That shows me your maturity level. So I have a response back that fits your level. Your commenting on a video that only shows that you can use an impact wrench to also drive in screws. This video is not about a tool, but a socket adapter that you can put on a tool. @@ronniethelimodriver6971 wow I am surprised that a journeyman cannot grasp the concept of an adapter regardless for impact wrench or driver for DiY regardless of if you are in the trades or not.. What if I want to change a tire and then go build a table or somethin? These 2 tools overlap with their adapters. It doesnt take a journeyman to figure that out. It's common sense.. Take the L and go.. Ronny the L driver sounding like you got dumped and cannot accept the reality... Dude just stop already
