It somehow manages to not be gaudy. Day dates are amazing. The red of the ruby looks gorgeous as a baguette indicator against the gold and the gold pave dial. Looks unreal and I’m not a gems-on-watch lover, but I adore this.

This probably won’t make sense to you but… I love looking at it but struggle with the occasions at which I’d choose to wear it. You’re right about the rainbow btw… my AD told me she was getting 2 and one would be for me… only to get shutdown by Rolex. To be fair the only reason I was buying it was to hold it 2-3 years snd then sell or trade it as it (like the DD you just reviewed) was too blinged out for me. Another great video… nice job.

I agree bro, it is the baddest flashiest modern Rolex to date. I can def see those rubies hit harder then a rainbow from across the street, and it is more rare then any other model, that’s a fact from what I was told by a few. One of my favorite Day Dates that I deeply regret not buying is the 36mm Lapis Lazuli dial in White Gold. The lapis and the White Gold are amazing together. Very hard to find now. A White Gold Pave dial with blue Sapphires in Roman numerals? That would be fire.

Day date 40 is definitely my favourite watch by far, I love the yellow gold with the champagne dial, I love the rose gold with the chocolate or the green or even the rose gold dial, I love the white gold in green or silver. However since I am a broke guy and I have 3 kids in the projects I will be lucky to afford a two tone date just, which I think are being slept on, the rose gold two tone with the chocolate dial is barely over retail, if I ever have money I’d buy the date just ASAP
