1 5 HP sprinkler pump replacement

A new sprinkler pump that developed a squeaking sound after running for about 5 minutes

Did anyone else think from the title that he was going to show replacing the pump?

From experience I can tell you that the screws that secure the rear motor cover benefit from the threads being coated with anti-seize compound prior to re-assembly.

If I’m not mistaken..Ace’s pumps are refurbished from other brands.

Do you manually have to change zone or do they run all at the same time. That sounds like the bearing behind the impeller. Im surprized you didnt just bring it back to Ace Someone didnt assemble that pump very well from the factory and with that squeal I dont see it lasting very long. Why not just spend a couple hundred more and get a gould or a pentair. I forgot the other good ones but you get the picture. something heavy duty?

that's a used pump with bad bearings..

Yup. Thants why it was a closeout. It was prob a return. When you see rust like that it means someone had it apart but didnt have the parts or experience to put it back together. I used to be a pool repair tech so like you. Ive seen it all
