hey whats up buddy, what would make air end oil come out the relief valve after shutting air valve to unload
@rotarycomptech
@rotarycomptech 14 күн бұрын
It sounds like the compressor, not unloading or not blowing down properly and going over pressure, causing the sump tank relief valve to lift

Whats fhe Best way to do a fluid change on these? Just changle filter, Drain sump and refill? Or is there a way to drain the system and refill? Cant seem to figure out what point to fill to. (I only drained the sump and refilled)
@rotarycomptech
@rotarycomptech Ай бұрын
You’re better off to drain it under pressure, remove the quarter inch control line that goes to the blowdown valve then shut the machine down and it will maintain some pressure without blowing down

Thank you for making this series. I have learned a ton about which tools to use and the techniques used for different steps in this tear down and rebuild. I have a couple of questions about some of the steps that weren't shown in the series involving cleaning and priming. What do you use to polish the journals on the crank? I am guessing you don't use a wire wheel on any of the machined surfaces. When you primed the parts, did you mask off the machined parts. and if so what do you use? At one point you said you were going to let something, I think it was the crank, soak in the "cleaner". What cleaning solution are you using? Thank you!
@rotarycomptech
@rotarycomptech 5 ай бұрын
I just used Emery paper on the crankshaft journals. I cleaned all of the castings with old-school carburetor cleaner any paint that I got on the surfaces of the crank case. When I primed it, I wiped off with thinner. Checked out your video on your air compressor on your channel and it looks like you may have an obsolete unit At least, as far as the high-pressure valves go, I believe they are non-existent at this point

Hi, what would cause an unloader tower to only unload air when the intake port has been blocked? if i manually press down on the unloader piston it wont unload much air. If i block the intake port and then press down on the unloader tower piston and remove my hand from the intake port it unloads air. Any ideas? I have a 310 of similar age with out oil pump. Looks just like this. Mine leaks out of unloader valve. Any suggestions. What rpm are these suppose to spin at to work properly? I can't find out much about it.
@rotarycomptech
@rotarycomptech 11 ай бұрын
The rpm should be roughly around 800. As far as the unloader goes it may just be out of adjustment. There are some shims that are located between the valve, body and the housing the shims are used to set the travel of the internal centrifugal unloader mechanism. It may just be out of adjustment.

What is the procedure for setting inlet valve clearance on a sullair that uses a diaphragm based control unit?
@rotarycomptech

@@diezelkuchar6560 I obviously don’t know the machine that you’re working with, but it still remains the same if it is an analog machine or a PLC control machine. Get the machine to run unloaded adjust the linkage on the control arm and or the position of the butterfly inlet valve. You’re trying to get the compressor to maintain around 60 pounds of unloaded some pressure. And that’s basically it

I don't see a lot of replies but I will give it a shot. Do you rebuild the air end ? I had this exact compressor completely freeze. I cannot turn it by hand. And when I opened it up and removed filter it was empty of oil and compartment was full of oil. Never rebuild a compressor before. Just truck engines. Any advice or good websites to look at?

I have rebuilt air ends before Mostly those with angler contact bearings not tapered roller bearings , you will probably have a hard time finding a website or a KZbin video on how to set the clearances on a tapered, roller, bearing air end, most of the air end rebuilding companies will only rebuild 100 mm and larger nothing smaller than that. on that particular machine it was very typical to exchange the airend for a rebuilt one from the factory. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear.

Even better was 88 🤔 Town Car ad showing its classic formal look, while knocking cookie cutter looks of downsized 98s, Electras, and Cadillacs. Have had 78,89,and currently 2007 Town Cars, as well as other Luxury vehicles. All Lincolns have been great examples of what a Luxury car should be. Last Town Cars were 2011. Sad to see what is now considered a luxury vehicle! 😕.
