For a guy who markets himself as highly perceptive, I was surprised you didn't recognize Vijayaram paying a compliment at the end. He pointed at his opponents tabled hand and then to his own head, clearly indicating what a great mind game had been played on him, which was the absolute truth. He just happened to figure it out. Great respect from the new champion. Very classy.

blinknbcr few ways. bunch of sites you can have multi accounts i wont explain how. but you can have a few seats at one table. There's bots now that can easily beat players,like the Polaris bot. look it up. teams of ghosts. where you and friends are at a table talking to each other through Skype. . there poker cheat sheets and then what happened with Durrr where they find every hand you played online and put it through a program and then you gain a great advantage. these and more.

You pretty much said that all pairs are the same against Heath's river jam range - either he beats an overpair or he's bluffing - but then said that Vijayaram has better hands to call with than 55, like overpairs. Shouldn't the fact that 55 blocks 85 (and 54, I guess?) make it a better bluffcatch than, say, AA?

Hi Dan I'm confused about the river. At first you said that K8o dude could have legit value hands in his range like Q8 on the river, but when it came for 55 dude to make a call you said that opponent represents hands that have over pair crushed (2 pair or better). So how would the river play out if instead of K8 he had Q8? For me if opponent could have Q8 on the turn and would not go for thin value on Q river with a jam, I would just call... Since Q8 is probably the most likely 8 combo in the opponents range.

You contradict yourself a bit on this one Doug, at one point you say that heath could have got there with q8 q10 or q5 and have a slam dunk value bet on the river and you're 100% correct, granted it's only a small number of hands that got their with a queen he's always value betting it on the river. But later you say that vijayaram is simply calling against two things only: 2 pair or better or a stone bluff and that simply isn't true

@NikhilAutar 7 жыл бұрын
I dunno if some of the hands he's representing would jam so big on the river (though his sizing does leave him with less options... I dunno, the graphics don't help), if he had q8, why jam and not put in a small value bet planning to reluctantly call all ins and getting a higher chance of getting value from 6/9/7/all other mid pocket pairs he's representing (I'm not sure of what's going on with the stack sizes haha but the point remains if the spr is like more than 3:4)? His bluffs are limited to a8, k8 and maybe 8 with a pair (though again, it'd have to be a semi-bluff at best. Why not check at this stage with those hands when your bluffs are sorta more limited without flopped flush draws - though here bdfds are possible for sure), but he has many value hands - 2 pairs and better, the made straights (it's unlikely you flop it, but the combos are still there), sets etc while we have similar ones, but find ourselves at the bottom of our range here. I think all that considered on top of what doug says... it leans even heavier to the side of fold. But then again, we forget that this lets him be a fucking baws!!!

Colman vs Seiver hand was classic busted AA. Colman probably should of folded turn considering how dry the board was and Seiver put over 66% of his chips in the pot , but continued to river. Colman is only beating a pure bluff if a river bet came which it did. AK and KQ are checking back.

if 55s are basically a 6, 7, or 9, then if we check back turn arent we checking back too many hands? Why is this not a fine candidate to semi bluff with on the turn? Are we never folding out better, never getting value from weaker? Are we setting ourselves up to being blown out of the pot on the rvr? What rvrs come that we can call any leadout beside 458, maybe 679. Is there merit to betting the turn at our price, to set the rvr up for most likely chk chk, as opposed to chking back turn and getting bluffed out

Make no mistake, this is a hero call. But I don’t know, you might only get one chance in your life to test your luck for 1.6 million dollars. Even if we say you’re only good here 20% of the time - maybe it’s still worth it to make that call and to take that chance. If you lose, there’s still plenty more poker to play, and you don’t have to live your life in regret getting bluffed out of an instant 1.6 million. Is that good poker? Probably not, but it might be a good life choice.

I personally think that Heath would raise a set and two pair combos on the flop because of him being afraid of the straightdraw, and to define range a little more. Taking that into consideration, with the turn raise and river bet he is really only representing T 8 maybe suited with hearts, or 5 8 suited which is at the bottom of his pre flop calling range. Vijayaram blocks 5 8 with his two fives and this makes it a definitely not easy but a good spot to hero call since Heath is kinda only repping one hand and not like 3-4 hands.

In general, I really like a turn bet HU here, but a much bigger one, because we could fold out some equity like gutshots, overcards, possibly even 6x, and there are so many draws to get value from. That said, Heath is a professional and should have plenty of hands in his range that he's check-raising with on this turn, so yeah, I guess I like a check back in this instance, keeping Heath's SPR at about 3 and thus probably preventing him from shoving most rivers. But when you check back turn, your bluffcatcher becomes kind of face up, so he may shove a really polarized range on the river anyway, when you find yourself in the same spot, but at least his range is kept wider after checking back the turn. Common scenario but tricky nonetheless.

Heath's tells are just awesome. On his C/R on turn he looks at his opponent in the eyes, acting confident and strong. This is very often a sign of weakness. Why acting strong with a big hand and scare the patron ?? On his all-in river he melts down, shoulders are getting low. His eyes changed a lot. In this case this is clearly not an acting, you can't really fake this. I really think this is a key thing in the Shurane's thinking, especially since he stares at Heath a lot around 8:20 9:40 and 10:15 . Still an amazing call ! GG

I'm not sure if I agree with the final analysis in this one (which is rare, I need not mention that you are obviously an extremely gifted player, more so than myself). As you said, opponent's range is probably pair of queens +, or 2-pair +, so as far as hand strength goes 55 and a 9 isn't much different. However 55 blocks the 45 straight, so 55 is one of the best bluff catchers here (actually maybe the single best?), certainly better than calling with a 9.

at 3:30 Heath raises with an open-ended straight draw... watch his face as he pushes his chips into the pot... he strongly looks straight into Vijaya's eyes... to me, that's an obvious tell... if he really wanted a call, he wouldn't have given such a cocky glance... this shows either that Heath is unsure whether or not he is beat, or that he is totally bluffing...

Great video. But if you look closely, after winning he is pointing to the losers cards, not his. So you are being unfair and wrong in the analysis. I think he pointed at the 8 and said, this is what I thought, you had, a busted draw with an 8!!

it was a super call especially with the 3rd spade that came on the river. Worst case though, if wrong you come in 2nd. still not too shabby for 130 buyin.

Why does polk say he certainly has 2 pair or a bluff in this spot? Is it not possible he had a hand like 8 ten and caught the straight? I mean that's unlikely obviously but not impossible

Anybody who makes a habit of calling with a pair of fives when there are four overcards on the table is going to eventually lose big. I know it's all a situation but the smart thing for him to do after he had been check-raised is to fold.
