I always wondered if there was a true difference between the types of high index glasses and the answer is: it all depends. High index glasses do overall improve the look of your glasses, so they are worth the investment. However, if you are on a budget, you don't necessarily want to spend more than you have to on an unnecessary high index lens - even if you do have a strong prescription. I would have loved to see the 1.74 vs 1.67 in a side by side (and not moving around) in exactly the same plastic frame. Your comparison wasn't the best as the plastic frames side by side were different types and color.
