Thanks once again for your amazingly good video. I’ve watched so many different channels featuring aeroplane builds, and you are the only one I’ve seen go to so much detail with the cockpit! I love it. Given it’s the part that gets the plane off the ground, I reckon it’s so important to spend a little more time on it. My only quibble is your pronunciation of Kharki. 😀 It’s not Ka-ki…it’s Karr-key. A good Aussie word! Karr-key. 🤣 Seriously Chad, I love your videos. Thanks so much again. ❤️

Coming along nicely. Sick deets in the cockpit. If you ever take requests, how about my favorite plane, the F4 Phantom? That’d be cool. You know, since you don’t have enough to build already.
@FlyingSModels3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, David. I actually have been trying to address some requests that I get through comments. Working on a "painting a pilot figure" now. Not that I'm a figure painted by any means...haha. I have had others request a 1/72 Airfix Phantom. I may have to try one. Believe it or not, I have never built a Phantom. Almost hard to say since I've been modeling for so long. Seems ridiculous just uttering those words.

Thanks, I'm glad you found it useful and inspiring. The seat I used was a True Details 1/72 ESCAPAC resin seat. Quickboost makes a nice one too: store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/qbt72444.htm Hope this helps.

@@FlyingSModels I found a Quickboost seat here in France !! Still looking for escapac. In your opinion are thé original decals worth it, or is it better to consider buying some add on like Eduard?? I ll built this AIRFIXkit taking your video as a guide now that I am retired !! Thank you again and the very best from France !!
@FlyingSModels3 жыл бұрын
@@patrickauffret2454 Glad you found the seat. If you found the Quickboost, you are all set. The "ESCPAC" is the name of the real full size seat so go with the Quickboost one. On the decals, I've used the kit decals on nearly all my Airfix builds and they have all been really good. I would only go with the aftermarket decals if there is a specific version you want. Thanks for the well wishes. Cheers!

Hello, thanks for sharing these lovely builds. I especially like these Airfix 1/72 kit builds, they look fantastic. I had a question though, I want to build the cockpit panels the same way you do, but finding it impossible to source the Waldron punch and die set (UK based). Are you aware of any alternatives or some other way to get really small round styrene shapes? Thanks.
@FlyingSModels3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words and taking the time to comment. I really enjoy the 1/72 Airfix kits too. Just wish the instrument panels had some detail on them. There are different ways to achieve the results with those round styrene shapes. You can buy small rod and cut it with a blade. You can make a little punch of your own using brass tube and beveling the edge on one end (just don't hit it too hard when you are punching out shapes). And the circle gets stuck up in there so you have to poke it out with small rod. Or, you might be able to get this one in the UK from Micro Mark. It's got the same sizes as the old Waldron set, I believe: www.micromark.com/Micro-Punch-Set?gclid=CjwKCAiAxJSPBhAoEiwAeO_fP61ZVFwYj4_PXbl-lL66_wYAymz2etfeiSEtu7qsd3IiCn2KbJWvrxoCHIcQAvD_BwE Hope this helps!
