Ive tried everything else so I'm going to try it. I also heard some ppl say alcohol works. Those are the two I'm going to try. Vicks does work some also though. For some reason I didnt stick with it.

Husband has had fungal toenail infection for over 10 years in big toenails. We've applied so many creams and lacquers that have had no effect. What did make a difference was vinegar baths every other night, but eventually it makes the skin sore so we stopped those. The current regime is making a difference slowly and nails look better than they have done for years. Surgical spirit (rubbing alcohol in US) seems to kill the fungus in a few weeks. For two weeks we rubbed toenails with surgical spirit every night, then left them for 20 minutes to dry off. Then rubbed with a mix of oregano oil/tea tree oil. The black fungus disappeared leaving a thick, grey, cracked nail. From then on used surgical spirit only after feet got wet to dry the toe. Mix of castor oil/oregano oil/teatree oil applied every night when toenails are dry. Toenails look better than they have for years but still grey. One toenail looks less grey and cracked and possibly clear nail growing out at base. Other is still very cracked and grey but slightly better than it was. We're just about to restart vinegar baths twice a week to see if it helps speed things up. Also using tea tree oil foot cream. Things are looking more hopeful than they have for years.

I got toenail fungus when I went through chemotherapy and my nails became loose. I trimmed the nails back as far as I could. Then I took my dremel conical sander and debrided the area of nail that was effected. Then I sprayed the top of the nails with antifungal spray everyday. It took over a year but it gradually got better and now it’s almost gone. Debriding the nail (sanding down the surface of the nail) helps the antifungal reach the fungus.

I definitely run into toe fungus in my practice, and have come up with a protocol, Squeeze the tips of the toe nails with your fingers using your index finger and thumb. If you squeeze the bottom of the toe along with the fungus nail you’ll increase blood flow to the nail cuticle. It takes about three months for results and ver effective treatment protocol without using medicine. Increase the blood flow as mentioned and you will get excellent results within 3 to six months. Really works. Some toe nails can be very sensitive so squeeze the toes accordingly.

Dr. Christopher Rieger 2982, Thank you for your helpful comment. I’m sure many will benefit from it. When I was a teenager my mom read in a magazine that to prevent ingrown toenails to trim the nails straight and to file the nail plate, top of the nail. Not filing too much or the nail would split. I tried it because at the time my big toe nails were red and painful from trimming the nails round shaped. Well it worked! So I’ve been doing this ever since, every 2 weeks, and I have no toenail issues. Amazon sells straight toenail clippers. And some open really wide to use on thick nails.

I had a plantar wart on my foot for years over a decade ago. Eventually, I got rid of it with one of those wart creams. Then, after years of not having it, it came back in the same spot. The wart creams wouldn't help this time. So, I cut as much skin off as I could and applied the latex sap of the milkweed plant that grows as a weed along highways. This made it itch so bad, but the wart went away in days. Unbelievable. Hasn't been back in a couple years so far.

I will try some of the medications (Have the ''Vicks'' and Peroxide, Baking soda, and the Tea Tree Oil) that are at the highest rating, I would love the laser used, and that is very nice of you to do this for people... I live in NYS though!! I had to get different sized shoes and some that would'' breathe'' and just wearing more of the' crocks' and i love them though! But they are not sure I have fungus and if I do, they cannot give me anything as Lamisil, as of having a Cyst on Pancreas and it has grown for two months, and are keeping an eye on it, and will be tested next month yet. with MRI and also have Leucopenia/Neutropenia, or low White count and Red count and Anemia. I have worked hard and this can really hurt the toes! I have really made them much better and use 'Arthritic Pain Reducing lotion' for pain anad aches, and it helps alot as have hammer toes too, and could have surgery ( the Dr is giving me time to consider it and then will go back in July with my answer, but as far as Fungus they'' do not know without tests done, they said ''and even if I did have it , as said above they cannot give me Lamisil or anything else as of other problems. The Dr would need to do all toes on one foot, to the knuckles of toes, in order to help the one toe, and I have bunions,( think I will get at least one done, as the bunion is hurting and rubbing against shoes, it is driving me crazy, even with nice shoes that are the proper size! I have danced for years in the past and taught for awhile, and also worked hard all my life, and so now have ruined my feet, I have my toes nails mostly cut way down now and have worked at it for a time, but now will need to go to a manicurist to get it filed 'straight' and I have trouble with these arthritic feet, it is hard to see which way to do it, as of the crooked toes. I did go to Podiatrist and the arthritic lotion and the shoes that fit properly alone have done well. I do appreciate your help and you certainly have covered so much in this video. As it is alot of what my Dr said but he des not seem to do laser as he never mentioned it at all. But I do not travel so much and I am in NYS as mentioned and so this is not going to work evidently, Those in Michigan are so very lucky to have you as their physician!! I am not diabetic though, just pre -diabetic, but must watch starch foods, as well, I say much of his to help others who may se any of the problems happening too to get to a Podiatrist in which I did not do! An accident can start it all off as well, something happening to a foot or toe! *Do not know how but you really did cover so much and will try much of what you have said and I know it is all great advice as the Podiatrist I see seems to even believe the same way! But they do not always tell you just what to uses over counter, always, as you have done, that will work the best to help! 😇

it would be nice if the US Healthcare system was like the rest of the world & not for Huge profit. We deal with hundreds of levels of plans, we pay the Monthly premiums, Deductibles, co-pays etc... & not everything is covered. For all that money we pay to have insurance everything should be covered. They should not be able to deny anything that's medically beneficial. Yet We still put up with it & this Ridiculous system. As long as we keep paying premiums they're gonna keep on denying medical attention that's needed.

Hi Doc, thanks for the video. I have nail fungus on my 2 big toenails. One of them was surgically removed two years ago (for an ingrown toenail but also has fungus), the nail grew back with the fungus. However, since it grew back, the end part of the nail (white part) hasn’t grown back so I can’t cut that nail (haven’t cut it since my surgery), so I don’t know how I can get rid of the fungus if my nail is not growing anymore?
@queenc21446 ай бұрын
File the top of the nail. Buy some vitamin E oil and oragino and tea tree oil. Mix together. Put bleach in a shot glass and soak toe for one minute. Rinse off, dry. Then file top of nail. Not the white part , the whole top of the nail. Then use a dropper and put the oil mixture. Then put a bandaid on overnight. I did this twice a day for three weeks and it’s almost totally gone. There is a study on the NIH website that showed this worked (type in toenail fungus tea tree oil NIH -in google and it should come up) I tried everything for 10 years and 3 Drs. He’s right about a lot of these but I don’t think he’s read the research saying you can use different vehicles like vitamin E or DMSO (you should only get that from a compounding pharmacy and therefore a DR) to penetrate the nails. Anyway good luck.
