Fun fact about Krokodile: Just like how Tepig is a parallel to Charmander and it's backstory, Krokodile was meant to be the parallel to Squirtle. This since gen 5 was a soft reboot inspired in gen 1. That's why they both use sunglasses. The same goes to Snivy being a parallel to Bulbasaur. Since both of them were pokemon that previously had a trainer but decided to travel with Ash if he was able to defeat them in battle and that acted as the serious ones of the starter trio.

They were both temporary captures for the Pokémon Catch Race happening in that movie. - Fearow (the evolved form of the Spearow from the first episode), Oddish and Slowpoke from “The Electric Tale of Pikachu” manga.
