Its a loose power steering pump belt you need to manually tighten it, the noise you hear is a belt noise. Good luck

Hey Vlad - following up yesterday's comment on similar issue with my '99 RX300, when the steering seemed "angry" as you describe. Have not experienced any noises recently, and no leaks, so -- after watching your video -- figuring (hoping) that it's only a fluid or belt issue that caused the "anger" yesterday. Belt seemed fine, but fluid was noticably dirty. Can't recall last time refreshed. Decided to flush/refill fluid and remove/clean the reservoir. Fluid was dirty green and reservoir had dark gunk accumulated at the bottom on the screen. Cleaning the reservoir was a challenge since it's difficult to get through the small opening on top to the nooks at the bottom with alternating shots of degreaser and brake cleaner (quick rinse following brake cleaner since reservoir is plastic.) Allowed to air dry before refilling the reservoir. Following repeated refills and draining to thoroughly refresh the fluid in the system, the steering seems fine so far. Will followup if turns out to be something other than the dirty fluid. Thanks again for the video and explaining your thinking along the way.

Hi, I sm having the same issue. Was it 100% the belt or was it also the punp since you said it was still sqeaking a little aftet replacing belt. Did the jerkyness of the pump pulley stop as ypu turned the wheel? Or did it keep skipping on the pully? Please answer or someone answer quick dude to car not driveanle. Thank you so much bro!

I watched your whole video except the end when you realized it wasn't the pump. So now I have to return the pump I ordered, because I didn't check the belt first. That was all it was. lol To be honest. I didn't think about the fact that there are two belts. So I automatically assumed the belt was fine since the belt I could see was fine. My bad. lol Appreciate the only video really on this issue with this car.

You ever figured it out? Ours sat for 3 months perfectly fine then the power steering went out. Fluid started gushing out of the reservoir really hard to steer even while driving. Engine seems noisier than usual. Please let me know what you did to fix the problem.

Really liked your progression through troubleshooting steps and explanations along the way. So how was it when you checked the following day? Wondering if you were able to determine whether this was more of a belt issue or a fluid issue.

Thanks JP. It ended up being a belt issue. Belt was slipping on the pulley, definitely a process to figure out proper belt tension.

@@thisguyvlad17 Appreciate your quick followup. I've got a similar issue on a 99 RX300. I'll check the belt, but also planning to flush the fluid as I know it's been some time since last done. Hoping to fix the sluggish steering issue without having to replace pump.

Dang. I have same issues with my 2004 rx 330. It happens when it rains the whole day that I’m not using it. . When i drive home i notice something wrong with the steering wheel.

Just got this 05 RX330 and the steering vibrates/pulsates when you first start out. After it warms up it's ok. Previous owner had PS pump replaced twice. Gonna have to check areas you pointed out. In the meantime, did you ever find out more yourself? Thanks.
