One bit of feedback I would like to give on the game is Sound Fatigue. Thor makes a great short about how to solve this problem, I just noticed it after a few minutes into the video, the sound of the Skeletons dying would get annoying after a while. Other than that, can't wait to get my hands on the finished product!

My biggest suggestion is to lean into the exponential scaling of VS rather than the linear play of Hall of Torment. Even something as simple as being able to overclock certain skills and items if you've maxed them out. Maybe add it as a madness mode or something. That and an option to increase game speed.

I don't think it's all that crazy. The Indy people/teams goal is to make the best game possible that they think people would like because they like it and are passionate about it. The AAA studio is about scientifically extracting as much money out of users as possible before they revolt and a good game is only secondary because it may increase resource extraction from their victims.

its pretty solid, I enjoy it. feels fun, only thing i'd suggest is have a bubble for your character you selected also be on screen like your skills/buffs do so you can easily see what you should aim for, there is a character tab that shows in depth everything as well, but a quick "you picked this" reminder is nice

For a demo though, this games pretty good. I wonder what the full game will look like? Or is the demo just to show combat but the game will feature exploration and more in the future? If so, I request they add in a necromancer or summoning class or maybe taming? I loved being a necromancer back in Diablo.

So he went block and damage reflect on block huh? That's my favorite build in Halls of Torment using the Shield Maiden. Get the Fencing Gauntlet, every blocks gives you an extra hit with guaranteed crit. Then work on maxing out block as fast as you can, and then crit damage. If you then get one of the high level bonuses that increases the area of your mace attack by a LOT, and use a x2 potion on it. You kill everything on your screen every time you block. And if you don't, you do it on the second block. And since you block pretty much everything in the game(except for very very late game in the Vault, or if you get a shit ton of mob dmg increases when you donate money to it), you want to just walk into the biggest group of mobs. That's the only character where I've been able to wipe out both ghost walls on Forgotten Viaduct. It also trivialized getting the achievement for killing the Lord of Greed in under 9 minutes in the Vault. There are no doubt stronger builds. But I don't think there are an easier, more basic build that's also incredibly powerful. Even more powerful now that you can send up the upgraded versions of items. Since now the gauntlet needed for the build is something you have from the start. Rather then hoping for RNG.

The problem is that it's too short. Only two classes in demo, two playable weapon sets - bows and range axes, only range works nice with demo stats. I made it all, and now there is nothing to do there. The game is great, really. But it's too great to wait for few months for more. I think many ppl will be angry at dev for such patience test.

I love this genre of game. I have played most of them. I still feel like there is massive potential in the genre that has not been realized. I'm waiting for someone to really take the genre seriously and make a big, refined, quality game. I think there is great incentive to do so as well. If you were to keep iterating and create the leader in the genre, you have a very large audience.

I think the improvement of this game should be making every build feel OP, and not just one of them. I like that in Vampire Survivors 90% of the combinations of weapons/power ups I take are OP so it doesn't feel like I'm choosing wrong if I want to go any type of build. Unless the RNG screws me of course.

So, the demo that's available doesn't have the build that Asmon played, and you've got 3 campaign like areas, and then the endless horde mode to grind for faction levels and test builds etc xD: It's really fun.

One thing I see this game seems to be failing to do that games like Crimsonland did better more than a decade ago is giving you temp buffs or other items to have a reason to move around the map. Possibly even making riskier moves to get those items/buffs. Another thing which can force you to move is ground-targeted harazds/spells/traps/etc. Halls of Torment has lots of those, Vampire Survivors has some too, but this game doesn't? If you can complete the entire game by just going around one super small circle endlessly and safely, or worse, afk standing in place, it can get boring quick.

I was genuinely surprised by this game. Not really a fan of the nudity but to each their own. I did quite enjoy the mechanics of the game and it's concept is very interesting. I have been playing it for half an hour and I am shocked that this is made by just one person. It feels great. Glad Asmon showed this game. I really wonder what all is going to be in the actual release.
