This is the first video in our home movement series.
Imagine how much you will improve your movement if you only practice quality movement techniques, add that to the new dynamic movement we teach and your game will improve no matter your standard.
We guarantee this will open your mind to better movement with more efficient energy usage and better balance and we thought we would start with something you may have never seen before.
We have also put all this into an organized FREE section on our site which will be populated with video as we release them. Go to:

Seize this opportunity and improve your movement.

Excellent well presented video. Unless shown, I would never have thought of it. Squash movement is hard at the best of times, this with practice will definitely help. Thanks for the video.

Balance and stress play a huge part in energy use and conservation as well as injury prevention. This technique is a great thing to understand but should not be overdone or pronounced, go with the minimum movement to maintain full balance. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Gary, I've always loved the way you explain things...simple and concise. In terms of movement, one big issue I have (obviously not just me) is: me being on the T and in a ready position, my opponent behind me, fakes a big swing, and suddenly drops it in the front...I'm often frozen...any suggestions to feel unfrozen (even when I 'see' the drop but can't move my feet). I also would love to see a video on racket prep, and things we could do at home to do a proper racket prep...thanks!

It is all about the split step from a 45 degree stance allowing you to move quickly forward or back and watching carefully when your opponent has time to choose which shot. Your split should land as they hit so downward pressure is on your feet and you take off very quickly. Check out the split step video on my KZbin channel and you will get the idea. Best advice is to solve the root cause and not put your opponent in position with time but the split will fix it when you get your target for the drive slightly wrong.

This is great! Makes sense. Will try it out. Q - if playing a straight drop what changes on the lunge?

If you play a straight drop you move backward covering both down the wall and cross court with your split step take off

Yep. When I ghost, I practice sliding my back foot but when playing, most often it stays grounded. I guess it just requires more practice. Do you slide the back foot while playing the shot or immediately after the ball is struck?
@squashanalysis5670
@squashanalysis5670 4 жыл бұрын
You slide in as required as you hit to maintain balance, the more stress you are under the more you need to slide your back for in. You must not be under stress when you are playing.
