Jeroboam's hand froze and the prophet had to call on God's mercy for him. Wow!😮😮. Yes a great teaching to show God is unchanging he was merciful then as he is now wishing none should perish, but come to repentance.

We are blessed to live in this day. Jereboam did not have the Holy Spirit to guide him as we do today. Yes, he was stiff necked not only ignoring the prophets but also the physical signs and warnings from God. May we always choose to live in agreement with God's will in our thoughts, actions and purpose guided by His Holy Spirit. - Amen

Before Jeroboam, what would his house have been called? The house of Nebat? What makes a house, because he was of the tribe of Ephraim. Like what would make the house of David, all his children? His children's children, are they his house, or the house of their own father? Edit: In 1 Kings chapter 11, Jeroboam is given charge of the house of Joseph, but surely not all the house of Joseph is meant to be wiped from the face of the Earth, when God says Jeroboam's house, so I'd love it if someone could help me wrap my head around these ideas of houses.

Excuse me, but can anyone tell me where he finds it written that Asa's grandmother's idol is for "Assura" (sp?) I read King James Version there is no specification as to whom the idol was for, only that he burned it

Do you think God was also showing mercy to Jeroboam’s wife, as well, as her child would only die once she returned to Jeroboam. It was her choice to return. If she had not returned, she and her child may have been spared the judgment of God. Just a thought.

God did not use the closer prophet because he was a liar and unworthy. I think that's what the stories trying to tell.

Pastor Paul says: 'By command of the Law these Jews were required to attend these feasts at the Temple' It is sad you make it sound as if participating in these feasts of YeHoVaH full of significance was somehow a burdensome obligation rather than the delight these feasts were to be.
