I can relate to Elijah feeling down even when he knew Gods power. When I was reborn I felt so awakened and aware of Gods truth yet I never felt so alone because then you realize how alone you are in a world of so many unbelievers 😔 I hope Jesus comes soon 🙏🏼

@@jyotsnanath695 Sorry, so, when the man was slain by a lion, in 1 Kings 20:36, who was on his side? And from what I can tell, he only refused what was seemingly a fairly confusing, even perhaps, irrational command, up to that point? To 'smite' the man requesting it.

As bad of a king as Ahab had been, God still showed him mercy and helped him defeat his enemy when he humbled himself. Thank you. Because you have been pointing out God's many acts of mercy I'm finally seeing them too ❤

I learned things about Elijah through this sermon that I have never heard of before. This was very eye-opening. Now, I know that when I am depressed, I need to get away to meet God.

Pastor Paul just wanted to say how much I can relate to what u say in this sermon. I have been tormented with depression since I was a very young child and I don't mean just having some bad days, I cannot begin to explain what I have lived with. I have been so bad I felt like going to heaven didn't sound good knowing that was not true but that's the way I have felt. I have begged God to take me out of this world. wishing I had never been born. I heard u say when u were depressed everything was bad no matter what. how well do I know that feeling. I feel very bad for people in this world that have depression so bad they kill themselves. I would have done this many times if not for the fear of losing my soul. I'm sorry u have dealt with this and I hope and I will pray u don't go through it anymore. God bless u

I used to really feel guilty for continuing in depression, despite God’s goodness. Tbh, it wasn’t a lack of contentment and joy in the Lord, it was primarily a chemical imbalance that needed addressed. By trusting God’s direction, meds have helped. Depression does nurture a lot of incorrect thinking patterns, though, which the Holy Spirit has gently been teaching me to surrender…fear, discouragement, and PRIDE. Asking Him to continually restore to me the years the locusts have eaten…and thanking Him for pulling me from the mire and darkness into His light. He is so faithful. He’s gentle and comforting when needed…He’s asking me the tough questions when needed. The Holy Spirit isn’t called “The Counselor” for nothing. Press on toward the Lord, o’ you the depressed one! Be open that sometimes part of His healing may be medication and a personality surrender. 🙏🏻

Also, remember your identity is not DEPRESSED, it’s VICTORIOUS in Jesus. For the one He sets free, is free indeed: from the wrath of sin and from our old self here. The One who stops the sun and divides the sea for His people, can rescue you.
@anjie54232 жыл бұрын
Sorry. One more thing. 😂 🤪 Ask God to use the depression you’ve gone through for His kingdom and to love others. He doesn’t just restore, He redeems. And, this took awhile, but THANK HIM for your struggle: You have yet to see some ways He can use it.

@@anjie5423 Sorry, and what did any of this have to do with 1 Kings 20:36, again? Whilst 2 Samuel 24 - well, that makes me (and a fair few others?) very, very depressed. So might Exodus 21:3-7, to 20, too.

I found it ironic how he said "the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant" and God responded later saying "Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him".

The aim is not to belittle the struggles of the children of God battling depression. His speech and words of choose are due to his reference point. Once you are of the other side of the war you tend to see things differently. Mark 3v27, Luke 11v21 and Isiah 49v24 speaks of a strong man ( interpreted to be the devil using strong holds like depression) who can and will be defeated by a stronger man ( JESUS CHRIST) Depression is a real desease but our God is the greatest healer, the giver of everlasting life. What do you have to lose? Look to him, allow him make you a living testimony. AMEN

God Bless Pastor Paul. However, he is extremely verbose. He speaks about Chapter at 19, which takes up about 44 minutes, but then Chapter 20 takes only 15 minutes. I had to fast-forward for his preaching of Chapter 19. I've watched dozens and dozens for so many of the psalms and they were very helpful, but 1 Kings 19-20, . . .
