I have been a believer for over 50 yrs. and am presently involved in a biblical study with my Pastor. Every day I read a chapter in Kings and listen to Pastor Skip once a day an many times twice a day. I cannot tell you how much I am learning and sooo blessed! You could say that ‘give up Israel’ (keep in mind this is the northern kingdom not the whole nation of Israel) means God gave them up to the curses because of their idolatry but spared the southern Kingdom Judah, because of the unconditional Davidic Covenant coming through the tribe of Judah via David. God is faithful to fulfill His unconditional and conditional covenants to both the northern & southern Kingdoms. Jeroboam, wasn’t in the Davidic line and he broke the very first commandment with idolatry and even made himself a priest. A definite no no in God’s eyes. So he and his nation was ‘given up’ to the curses. However, some from the northern Kingdom of Jeroboam did go south to be with the tribe of Judah & Benjamin. You rightly point out God hasn’t ‘given up’ on His unconditional promises to Israel that He made with Abraham, or David. We need to understand what each of those conditional or unconditional covenants entail and how each relates to the Land, the Seed and the Blessings for the nation of Israel. I am enjoying this study. Thanks Pastor Skip. I was struck by verse 14:9.."and have cast Me behind your back." Pretty much what's going on right now. Young people especially are being indoctrinated with the idea that humans are mere byproducts of Darwinian evolution and that the universe itself originated from nothing. (That's right - nothing - according to many well known physicists.) So in a growing number of minds - many of whom have already found their way into leadership positions in government, education, and business - God does not exist and those who believe in Him are delusional and labeled extremists. The Bible is considered fictional and full of misinformation and will at some point probably be banned for containing "hate speech" against the "progressive" culture. (Look at Canada.) Get rid of God and anything and everything becomes permissible. And as you said, unless there is a massive revival, we can expect the same fate as the house of Jeroboam - disaster - perhaps in the form of being dominated by our adversaries as was the case with Israel. God bless for speaking the truth.

I’ve been listening to Skip for months now and I like the way he explains but I was shocked when he said “God snitched on her”. I replayed it coz I can’t believe it! I don’t know how long this video was made but I feel like I have to say something. I just feel some disrespect done to our Holy God. Maybe wrong chose of word and can be said in different ways with reverence and humility to the God who we owe everything specifically our salvation.
