@@MrGreegor69 if I'm dead drifting a wooly bugger or something like that I don't use a loop knot. I find flies with weighted heads/front sections get stuck in a perpetual nosedive when not stripped in vigorously. Great for streamers or dead drifts under an indicator though, with a vertically presented nymph.

That's a simple king sling knot. If you look at tied king sling knot under a microscope after you sentch it down. With all those loops and it being monofilament will show a lot of damage on the monofilament by multiple loops and twist damaged created by the sentch whether or not you wet it before you sentch. Essentially, you've taken 15lb test and made it about 12lb test or even 10lb depending on the damage to the monofilament. The only 100% knot. That's technically not 100% but 99.5% approximately: Palomar knot (1)👊 The clinch knot (2) which is actually tied with many knots And then you have your "king sling knot" by far and away the most damaging knot to monofilament. The Palomar knot can be tied in seconds as well very simple to tie. Only draw back is you might lose two or three inches until you become accustomed to tying the palmar....be safe out there 👍

this is a non-slip loop knot unlike the palomar. There's really no way a loop knot can be as strong as a direct knot like the palomar by nature but that's the compromise you make for better action.

Rapala knot is great for getting baits to dance in the water. Ive always retied it after every decent fish though.

Its actually super strong. I use it when fly fishing for carp and can catch as many as I want on one knot as long as theres no abrasion.

It's a strong knot. Search for "saltwater fishing knots 101 (the only 3 knots you really need)" Just watched it yesterday and practicing now.

I always use the clinch knot to tie my steel leader, because this knot’s very simple and easy, and I never use just line while tying my lures since pike could simply bite it off.

Just depends on what you're fishing for. We use a steel leader for fish like mackerel, bluefish, sharks, etc.

Great knot, especially for Rapalas and for baits walking the dog.
