Hello treetop at 1:09. Glad it didn't connect. My nerves wouldn't let me do this. I fly slow and high, lol.

Nice job! I thought you might have an encounter with a pine tree though. Looked pretty to close to me.

The lens seems like it's not super wide angle, unlike most GoPro vids I see. Very cool.

Yes, the great best about the latest GoPro IMO is the 2.7k mode with narrow field of view. You get minimal distortion and still have the option for higher frame rates, with very fast shutter readout (no jello).

I heard with the new go pro hero4 you can't fly further then 150m with the Dji phantom 2 because of some wifi problem, how did you do it?

So did it descend by it self or someone had to do it manually?

Luke - just curious did you shoot this "Drive and Fly" following from a vehicle? I have never done that but have often thought about it. If so were you inside a vehicle or in the open, from like the bed of a truck? I was wondering about the transmitter being able to go through the glass windshield?

Yep, that's me climbing into the car at the edge of frame. The range is definitely reduced, but with windows down and the sunroof open, it's not a major loss - I've done around 30 flights with this method (cars, motorcycles, longboarding, and trains) and had it enter failsafe mode on perhaps five occasions. A little risky, but it lets you fly for extended periods at full forward throttle - which is awesome!

Thanks - great video. I sure would like to try it, I live in Washington State and we have definitely entered the rainy season. Might be a few months before I get back into any serious flight.

Battery was dead so I landed. The older Phantoms chewed through lipos in no time, especially at high altitudes...

Awesome! You'll have a blast. As for the cost of this system, we are actually sponsored by DJI so I didn't pay much... ;) It would be around $3k if I had purchased everything, but the FPV gear specifically is only about $600 of that.

how did you guys get sponsored?
