If you stand up in a room of 100 strangers, it is (nearly) guaranteed that there is a small proportion (1-5) that object or intensely dislike you on sight. It doesn't matter who you are. The converse also applies. It is the statistics of large groups. KZbin videos expose you to this with a vengeance.

Your willingness to show your vulnerability and humility by trying new things imperfectly, and maybe even failing, but keeping a sense of humor about it is an absolute treasure in a sea of people who want to project false confidence. A lot of great advice here, and it is nice to hear your honest comments on your present situation. Something about you is just so interesting to listen to. One thing that you mentioned, quitting a job at eighteen after three days, I can't really buy into that. I think most of us have had jobs that we didn't like, but hung on for better times. Right after high school, my daughter worked at McDonalds, as a hotel maid and at a boat manufacturer as a grinder/sander. None were easy jobs for her, but she stayed on and never complained. And during that time, she managed to get an Associate Degree from a nearby Community college. Is she financially successful now, not really, but she is happy living with her husband out in NW Washington in a small home, basically in the boondocks. I imagine that you have had some difficult times the last four years, but with you being so smart and pretty, I think the best part of your life lies right around the corner. And I am very sorry that you have said that you don't have friends to go out with right now. That is a real bummer. 🙋♂

Hey Erika, I actually love the idea of trying different jobs. As a 30 year old who just quit my job, I'm currently in the process of evaluating what I want to try next. At least for me, associating with people who are like me removes the pressure of feeling inadequacy, you know, not worrying about saying I enjoy a certain wine, knowing someone at the table is a sommelier. I would much rather enjoy dinner with friends like you. Some of the ideas you mentioned in this video- I hope your online friends here are a good sounding board. ER: I love what you're doing on this channel, and for your 1-month anniv., it feels like you are still trying to define things, but wow what a jump forward from the 1st show. I still believe in you, and you are coming up with some good ideas. Maybe you could try foods at restaurants, then see about your ability to reproduce the dish, maybe better it in some way, or put in a creative twist of your own. Build your following from people who like to try the same thing - 12K+ subscribers is nothing to scoff at for just 30 days on air! You might even end up building a cookbook that Amazon could sell on a print-on-demand basis. As for your anecdote on working 3 days in a restaurant, I'm betting you didn't think we would find that very interesting, but I thought it was great, and I can picture future talks about experiences like that really bringing you home for us, letting us get to know the 22-yr-old budding chef, or whatever you choose to be. Keep up the great work! And for what it's worth, and speaking as an amateur photographer, I think you could make a great portrait.

Don't be afraid of rejection and don't have any expectations, just wait to see what happens.

I really dig what you are trying to do with this channel, even if it hasn't become fully fleshed out yet. I wonder if you could do restaurant reviews via uber eats or take-out? Like, instead of having to go to the restaurant and sit down alone right now, just ordering the food to take home and then record a review in your apartment? Also, I wonder if businesses might open up to the idea of you working for just a day if they are looking to hire employees and want to get the word out - quasi advertising via your KZbin channel. Dirty Jobs translated to a cooking channel.

Be careful not to use the companies name and do the filming on its own, then do a voiceover after you’ve had a chance to take some notes and do your parody. Then alternate, your shows on a cooking segment then a parody then a beach trip or a grocery shop purchasing trip. And the way you choose your words I believe you are very intelligent and once you get used to doing the tubes, you will consistently get better. Even in this first month, you have done so much better have fun and what you do and it will come out that way, and we will be happy to follow.

1 month and 12k subscribers… wow! Just keep doing what you're doing. It works because you're being true to yourself and not conforming to others' expectations. You're perfect just the way you are, and your videos are amazing just as they are.

the channel doesn't need a purpose or direction. it can be whatever whenever,. it can change with what ever you are feeling. most people tune into channels because of the (anti) influencer's personality. You have a great personality so we will watch what ever you want to talk about. I bet live streaming will do well too because fans can interact with you in real time. best of luck with this channel.

Happy first month. 😁 Yes, doing stuff is cool but you talking is also very cool. It has such a unique and personal taste. Just do, whatever you feel like doing. 😊 EDIT: 111 Likes !
