This is the perfect truck for me. Most of the time I want nothing more than a vehicle that is quiet and comfortable for the 8 hours I spend commuting every week. This is also the perfect fishing truck. It'll tow a boat, fishing gear or crab pots, and I can toss my wet waders in the lockable trunk and not worry about them getting stolen or stinking up the cab. As for offroading... This thing is more than capable for what I do. Heck, I probably tackled hairier off-roading situations with my 2004 Aveo than most people do with their Tacos. (I've been on some pretty adventurous camping trips). I have no interest in boggin' in a truck. It's way better on a four-wheeler anyway.

Your videos are very good and informative. I must admit I hated the new Ridgeline at first but it's really growing on me especially after watching real owner reviews. Keep up the videos!

Just picked up the 2018 RTL-E! What a truck, yes you read me TRUCK! Drives great, ample power, great headroom and 2 memory seating positions, luxury vehicle for sure!

I have this truck and a 1/2 ton 4x4. Ridgeline does everything better up to the rated load. Its a great midsize truck.

Hey dude I like my ridgeline as well had it for about a month. No problems with mine. I couldn't stand how the touchscreen gets so dirty with fingerprints and has so much glare. If you go on Amazon there is a honda pilot screen protector for $30. its so worth it. Don't get the Ridgeline one it got bad reviews. Enjoy the truck!

Great overview. All of the Ridgeline years don’t have a trucking gate? 2017-2019?

IMHO, any touch screen needs a place for the reaching hand to anchor so fingers can accurately touch the appropriate buttons. I'm holding off on this truck until Honda adds knobs to the infotainment interface.

Great video looking to get a Ridgeline because it’s the most Practical truck for me I have a 2020 Honda Foreman Rubicon deluxe and now I need a truck to bring it around. Just wondering if you had any problems with your 2017 Ridgeline, and how is it working now. Thank you for the great video take care.

How do you think the Gen 2 Ridgeline will do on a 200-300 mile backcountry gravel road? I’m not talking a badly rutted rock crawling forestry road but a reasonably maintained gravel road.

Do you still have this truck? If so, how has it been long term? Any problems? Recalls etc
@smdanny15 жыл бұрын
you can get the recall info from NHTSA: Water may Leak into Rear Wiring Harness:Corrosion of the wiring harness can cause increased electrical resistance, unexpectedly activating the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system, increasing the risk of a crash. Fuel Pump Feed Port May Crack And Leak:A crack in the fuel pump feed port can allow pressurized fuel to leak out, increasing the risk of a fire.

They need to make the back doors open wider, locking tailgate, put volume control knobs and better infotainment system. thanks for review.

inside is sick, the outside isn't my cup of coffee, but the bed is cool. it has its place in the truck lineup. this really overall looks like an Australian version of trucks. they use these small bodies in the bush. it's just like their Nissan, Rangers, and Prado body styles

i often use the gear changing system on my bmw which has awd to slow quickly in slippery wintery conditions....do you feel this vehicle slows and stops quickly ?

How's the audio quality on the 540 watt system in the Black Edition? I haven't seen or read any reviews of it.

I have the RTL-E, the sound system is great. Much better than I thought it would be. I had a Camery where I installed 2 10 in subs, I thought the system in the RL was great compared to it. Obviously not as much bass, but still loud with some deep bass.

I saw you were not extending your left foot too much under the dash. Is that because the dead pedal and the emergency brake are in the way?
@shawnb58347 жыл бұрын
cbalano no that's just how I drive lol
@jearley227 жыл бұрын
That was one of my major issues with the design/fit of the truck. I hate that the emergency brake is right over the floor foot pad for the left foot!!! HATE IT , its in the way!!!
@cbalano7 жыл бұрын
I own a 2017 Ridgeline, too. I recently took it to a very long day trip (~700 miles). The truck performed admirably, average MPG was 24.8 (9.5L/100km). However, I felt my left knee and hip next day. Even with the driver seat fully extended, I had no decent room to extend my left foot because of the damn dead pedal and e-brake. Prior to the trip I went to my trusted mechanic and he removed the dead pedal for me. That helped a bit. However, the dead pedal is not too thick. Underneath it there is the wheel well, and that limits how far you can extend your left leg.

Can you use the tent with the hard tonneau cover? Is it easy to remove the cover to install the tent?
@shawnb58347 жыл бұрын
cbalano the tonneau removes easily with its clamps.

mustang1191 nope only the In bed trunk. Tailgate opens two ways and doesn't lock.

yeah...that was a bummer. no locking tailgate.

Hi there Shawn i just bought a 2017 ridgeline sport in white. Love the truck I was wondering if you can help me with apple car play, I heard you can watch you tube and surf the net. By the way from watching your videos i don't live too far from you.

You can't watch videos using the front screen on any RL, the saftey settings won't let you. You can't even use safari while the phone is plugged in.

@acephantom9035 жыл бұрын
Very low production numbers. Honda knows that Honda people don't want trucks and that truck people don't want Hondas. These fill that small overlap group and they sell 100% of what they make.

This is the perfect truckette for maloonials. For us "REAL MEN", we will NEVER consider it a real truck, No matter what THEY do to it.
@shawnb58342 жыл бұрын
Considering I also have a sierra, I can confirm this truck is suitable for the average consumer for 90% of the tasks they own a truck for. Obviously if you need to truck for heavy hauling or longer beds, there are other options. My sierra consumes nearly double the fuel this does for the same tasks....

With all the weekend activities you do, like camping and mountain biking, I was thinking you should have bought a truck.
@danybitar7 жыл бұрын
2 minutes in and I had to stop watching. I thought I was watching a video of someone comments about a vehicle he's owned for that past month or so. Instead, it's a guy whining about others comments and justifying what a truck is. 2 mins and I'm gone.
@KevinSmith-qi5yn7 жыл бұрын
Please do not insult mid-size pickups. It's a Ute. If you compare it as a mid-size it falls flat on its face compared to the capabilities of a mid-size pickup.

its NOT a truck buddy learn about the auto vs trucks
@kellypainter76257 жыл бұрын
How do you define a truck? That it doesn't have body on frame? Seems you need to do some learning. This is my 5th truck and I don't view the fact that it doesn't drive like a truck as a negative.
@andrewdiamond26977 жыл бұрын
It's not a truck because it is unibody and doesn't have a rear axle. The same reasons the Hummer H1, Mercedes G Wagon and Land Rover/Range Rover aren't trucks. /s
@kellypainter76257 жыл бұрын
Thanks for clearing that up. So my first "car" was a 1964 Chevy Impala 4 door. It had a rear axle and a body on frame. So I guess it really was a truck. It sure drove like one.
@andrewdiamond26977 жыл бұрын
Point being, on the Hummer, Benz, and Rover, you never heard "truck purists" howling about these vehicles, which are all more off-road capable than nearly anything with a solid rear axle, but have Honda come out with one, and the "truck guys" lose their minds.
@mdtaranto7 жыл бұрын
So in order to be considered a "truck", it needs to be more off-road capable. Yet you first state the H1 wasn't a truck, but "purists" don't howl at them. Crazy how this episode of top gear they used extremely off-road capable vehicles: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Gear:_Bolivia_Special, none of which was a "truck". Your logic is extremely flawed. It has nothing to do with the unibody, and nothing to do with the rear Axel. You don't like that it has a truck bed, but drives like an SUV. Buying a "truck" for the random handful of times you go off-roading makes about as much sense as your hypocrisy. Get over it, the people that buy them like em. Psst, northamericancaroftheyear.org Amazing how this Truck beat out the competition, by a wide margin. Truck of the year... not unibody, Truck.
