Maur Ice The quality of leather and all of the details are nothing close to the quality of a Rolls Royce Dawn. Two very different vehicles. There's not enough different from an S600 or S550 for that matter.

Yeah I like all the nice materials but shape and design wise it's identical. It looks like a regular S65 AMG with modified interior materials, unlike the 4 door Maybach which looks much better and more spacious than the regular S class.

My thoughts: I think it is good and absolutely right that Mercedes has not yet discontinued the Maybach brand after the debacle with the W240/V240, they simply owe to Wilhelm Maybach, the current W222 derivatives are selling well and more importantly technically ahead of time - at least the 500s. The V12 M279 in the S600, on the other hand, is lagging technically behind, is still based on the three-valve engines of the W220, ie no direct injection etc., and the 7G-Tronic is also replaced by the 9G-Tronic in most models, even with four-cylinder engines, but is only available for the Maybach S500. And for me it is also the best choice, enough power, more modern technical layout, but especially less weight, since the car is already heavy enough! Mercedes will certainly further expand the Maybach brand, to a Maybach Coupé now is only a small step, a SUV based on the GLS or the revised G would certainly find many friends, the "normal" long wheelbase of the S-Class as Maybach variant would be ideal for the self-driver, and also SL, CLS and E-Class would be conceivable as Maybach. Even the new straight-six cylinders, even as a diesel, I could imagine well in the Maybach - for one thing, the Maybach-Motorenbau has a long diesel engine tradition, and on the other hand: Maserati, Bentley, Porsche and Jaguar do it! And as for the V12, hopefully, the information is that on the basis of the new four-liter V8 M176 a new six-liter V12 (potentially with four small turbochargers?) is developed, which with the cylinder blocks and heads of the new three-liter straight-six cylinder M256 could be brought to completion relatively simple and inexpensively (by high blockage, principle of equalization) - and thus the Maybach really would be the crown of the car industry! And on the subject of limitation: If artificially shortages of the offer are tried to impose high market prices, this market can react in various ways - Wilhelm Maybach, however, has welcomed every single customer in his days!

The Truth and this Maybach is a $95,000 S Class with some fancy leather and speaker grilles. Need I say more? Learn how to spell compare. I know people who drive Bentley's 10,000 miles a year with no issues. Keep up with your maintenance, it's going to be expensive on any luxury car. And are you talking about the comparison between the Mulsanne and the S65 where the Mulsanne obliterated the S65 in every category? Or the new one with the S63 coupe and the Continental Speed? Haven't watched that one yet.

JD powers does not do long reliability nor do they distinguish between serious and not so serious issues. If a car has a slow infotainment system, that is consider to be equally as unreliable as car with transmissions problems.

so its effectively a slightly more tarted up version of an open top S class, which is already tarted up (it actually looks less appealing than its lesser brethren, that chrome front apron is gaudy, and those wheels ugly). This is just an overpriced Mercedes with hideous tacked on things (nice rims, ugly rims, and tacky chrome front apron). This car doesn't seem worth the upcharge since it looks pretty similar to a S550 cabriolet, and you can get Napa leather on everything in a S550 cabriolet. Besides the Maybach badge, nothing on this car seems exclusive.
