I love the title just because one loaf perfect or not is always great from the love that it takes to make. To easy to just spend the dollar for a loaf at the store. Homemade is always perfect.

That's a great looking loaf. I'm so glad you showed making one loaf at a time. I really prefer not to make several loaves because I think they tend to dry out before I use them. Having one fresh one every couple days is perfect! Funny thing I noticed too, you and I have the same dishwasher cover and pot holders. We must both be chicken girls. Thanks for sharing!

How sweet that is to hear. That's the recipe I use every week. It is great. This bread is very good and is more on the Italian taste like an Italian loaf. Not exactly, but close. Thanks for telling me that. I'm feeling better already!

I'm with you! I prefer to make my bread by hand! I can tell by the feel of it when it is exactly right. I use my hands for all kinds of mixing. That's part of why i love your videos. That and the great recipes. I'm not a newbie but there is always something new to learn. Thanks Joy

Wow! Thank you so much for posting a recipe for 1 loaf of bread. This would be a perfect recipe to do with meals in a jar. Put all the ingredients (except water) in a baggie and store it along with your meals in a jar. Convenient. Thanks for doing the thinking and the work! I hope you are feeling better. I think it is probably hard to get a gal like you down! You are my favorite!

I will do it and love it. Yesterday, I had roasted garlic. I stunk to high heaven, but Lord was it good :) :) :)

I enjoyed watching your technique. Only subtle differences, but it's amazing how those little 'tricks' can make a big difference in the end product. After watching this, I'm concluding I always make my dough too wet... I 'have' to use flour when kneading it. I think I may end up making a loaf of bread today, now. :)

That looks good. But, I have to tell you, I haven't used any other recipe since I started using the one from your video about making different breads from one recipe. I've used it to male loaf bread, artisan bread, dinner rolls, hamburger buns, hot dog rolls and pizza crust. It is amazing! Thank you for all your videos! =)

So sorry you're not feeling well. Get better soon! This is a good lesson for me to learn. When I'm sick, I just send my husband out for pizza! If we're in an SHTF situation, I'm gonna have to pull up my big girl panties and cook even when I don't feel like it, aren't I? I should probably start practicing that now. :) You're an amazing woman. Now go get some rest and get better!

I'm with you. Baby uses her tools and gadgets for everything and I'm old fashioned hands on. Besides not having the space to store all the stuff I just really enjoy doing the the old way. I ain't ever going to say that my bread is better than hers but...... Hope you feel better soon. Going to try this recipe next time I need a loaf. God bless.

The only problem with homemade bread is that your family doesn't want any other kind!! I often make it by hand, but I also love my bread machine. There's no clean up and doesn't heat up the kitchen. Just 2 minutes to throw in a few ingredients into one pan and walk away. Perfection every time! What's your opinion on "bread flour" vs. "AP flour"? Also, my jar of yeast-kept in the fridge-exp. in Jan '13 and is still working great! Thanks for sharing while sick and hope you feel better soon!

I am using all purpose flour as I don't have time or money to play with it. It takes a little time to get use to making bread, but I am perplexed. Make sure the water is about 110 degrees no more--even go a bit lower108. It just feels slightly warm on the inner arm like it would feel if you check for baby formula. Other than that, I just do not know what it could be. Maybe no honey, but use sugar.

If you brush the top of the loaf (dough) with room temperature milk, it will brown nicely and be a softer crust. :)

Sorry you don't feel well. Try 1 tablespoon of turmeric in glass of warm milk. Might make you feel better. I use same recipe for bread, but add about 1/2 cup freshly ground flax seeds. Not much, if any adjustment to the recipe, depending on the weather. I use same mixer & learned from Noreen not to take it over second speed for kneading. Make 4 loaves at a time & freeze. No more store bought bread.
