There is an entire build that has been circulating around the community for quite some time ever since the release of Ghosts of the Deep, and it's hailed the "highest DPS setup" for hunters. The build involves shooting 10 Cold Comfort rockets in a row, without reloading.

it's had a few buffs. First off, instead of instantly reverting to original fire rate when you reload or get a kill, you get a small grace period so that you can maintain the fire rate while doing dps or killing multiple ads. It's also gotten some seasonal buffage due to the artifact perks. Finally, it still has original kill clip as part of its exotic perk, so you get 50% bonus damage on a kill+reload.

how is nighthawk bugged? they buffed it, and the only bug I can think of is maybe the kinetic surge mods are working to boost GG damage again (haven't checked). Nighthawk is just meta right now, I don't think it's bugged.
