This made me wonder how it would go if you took, say, the top 1/3 of the rank and put them to play 2v1 at a time against the bottom 2/3, or something like that

Hera I love you and all my man but 4 obviously above average players on an open map is just insane to deal with, if you can't break anyone in the first 10 mins it is very easy to guess the result. And the duration of the video also exposes it, since 16 mins wont be enough to delete 4 people. We need newbies against you if you wanna play against four :/

I did not even watch the video before the comment actually, I am a very close follower to Hera and have been a fan of the series, as soon as I saw the 16 minutes mark I knew the game was over with Hera losing, since if he won it'd obviously take a lot longer to kill 4 players. My point is that Hera is obviously incredibly skilled , yet the ''population'' on its own is an unbreakable problem. Viper and Hera tried to take down 6 generic players and same problem, 1200 Population on enemy's side. Since they have such an advantage, even including 1 person who is obviously above average would be critical. For instance, that person may simply eco boom while others allow him time, and rush in with, Idk, 100 Paladins? You don't get to micro such numbers. All in all, I want the series to continue as fun as ever and with a bit of a curiosity regarding the result. Much love and respect to Hera and to those who answered the comment ~

Rams are expensive in feudal and go down easily to villagers, I was only able to get so many because I was idling my tc and not building any farms.

This is one of the strats I really expected to work well and super interesting I wouldn't disallow civ picking because prepared strats are fun but you shouldn't overestimate how much you are learning (cause we are also learning from Watching) so I think you should limit to 1vs3 unless you have only sub 1k opponents

Random civ should be mandatory especially when it’s a 4 v 1.. beating you shouldn’t be the norm so a change is definitely needed for the viewers and also for the competitors to feel the challenge in these games.

Honestly banning Cumans might be a good idea :D. Also, playing 1vs4, even if half the players are beginners, is imo impossible since they can dominate you from feudal age on by their sheer numbers. I think it will be more enjoyable and a better learning for everyone involved if you strike a better balance. Btw. you have my sympathy. I played a lot of 1v3s against 3x 800-900 players and the feeling that I have very limited time to do damage otherwise I am going down no matter what is very frustrating since every little mistake counts and things like an unfavourable opponents' position (too far, strongest player as pocket, ...) alone can decide the whole game.

I think you should do more 3v1 to make it more fair. Also, may consider the combined elos have to be equal to or less than yours otherwise opponents have to go random civ and you pick civ, for any matchup.

1v4 is just so pointless it's impossible. 3 can feudal rush and 1 can totally boom for free. even if you commit hard to take one out it hurts your economy and theres still 3 players left. They could even just all boom and even if you take one out with military there's now 3 boomed enemies. you should play 1v3 or even 1v2 is still great to watch. 4 is just silly unless you're against 700elo player

Maybe is the 4 aren't ally's, so then can't share position before market and can't communicate as easily, that can create some confusion to play with ! You can be proud your comunity is improving (too much) by watching you and playing with you, nice job !

It seems like just doing 2v1 feudal all-in should usually be pretty effective. If not cuman rams then towers or some such. Have a third player go fast(ish) castle age to get siege or do a castle drop and it should usually work.

APM is appreciated, but sometimes watching slower players is more helpful in figuring out strategies. Hera's hands are as fast as lightning and my brain is slower than a snail.

It might be too much overhead but you might want to consider some sort of civ draft. Not sure how it would be done, maybe both sides ban 10 or 15 civs then pick what you want?

Im sure purple enjoyed training his dark age sandbox for that 11. it's their choice of course, but they tryharded so much. i would feel silly. 1v4 you should spice it up, like other mentioned before, all of them having the same civ would be interesting, no synergies, just 4x the pop against you. :)

Because it already a cramped map, maybe they should picked 6-player size of the map. Opponents deer/zebra spawning almost as close to you as them was a upside but that Teal could get good time with making rams in their base... maybe if it been more normal space between they would needed to play a little more risky and make the siege workshop forward or something.

you are going all in from 2/3 players to only kill one guy so unless you are executing amazingly in a super small map like Socotra the other two players that arent attacked can help/kill the rushers
