Never believe what a Shia Rafidah says (such as..rafidah or Athna‘ashariyyah or Ithna‘ashariyyah or shia jafari) because according to their books written by their imaams, they follow Taqiyya (lying about their religion)! (Al-Kafi, Vol 2 Pg. 634) 8) All the ṣaḥābah (the companions of the Islamic prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) became murtadd after the death of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, except three. (Rawdat Al Kafi, Vol. No. 8, Page No. 167) COMMENT: No doubt that these words are clear Kufr (Disbelief) and Shirk (Polytheism), because the knowledge of the unseen is only for Allah alone .. These words with no doubt countradict what Allah said in Surah Luqmaan "Verily, Allah With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things)" [Quran 31:34].

I think the wisdom from the following verse resolves the sunni-shia issue. Allah SWT said: تِلْكَ أُمَّةٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ ۖ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَلَكُمْ مَّا كَسَبْتُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُسْئَلُونَ عَمَّا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ "That was a nation which has passed on. My question is that since the ahl-bayt schools of theology and jurisprudence and aqeedah were centered around the Iraqi/ azerbazian and persian territories and did not come into play until Imam Jaffar Assadiq (AS) established a madhab.. so did everyone else get it wrong until the 6th Imam? Also for 23 years of the prophet PBUH''s life-- he was deluded by companions almost absolutely necessary for the propagation of Islam? The men and women who stood by him through thick and thin regardless of what happened afterwards between them.. they all had some sort of conspiracy that he-- the prophet of Allah SWT knew nothing about? I find it really hard to wrap my head around that.

What do u mean centered around iraq.....Most of the imams were in Medina....every one had access 2 the imams for guidance...it basically started 2 took a book form at the time of Jafar as sadiq a.s, for ppl from the later generation to follow. Reason obviously the rulers did not allow the earlier imams to do so. Sunni schools also came after him. Your premise that all the people who you say or think were sahabas were needed for propagation of islam is incorrect. That was a matter that was decided at that time. To me the best of people like Hazrat Ali Hazrat Abu Bakr were all rightly guided because they were the best of people who the prophet loved. I just don’t understand why there has to be two teams in the ummah now who are fighting because of the history . We are Muslims of today not the people of the past . ​@@DuskyLark in the Holy Quran, which is the unaltered word of our Creator and is a fully detailed/complete guidance for a human being, you will find the following text (translation is not always precise/correct, so one should study it in Arabic): "He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills." In Islam there is no obligation or added value for a Muslim to additionally choose a sect/direction such as Sufism, Sunnism, Shiism, Salafism etc. Sects divide the Muslim Ummah or add novelties (bidʻah), which is haram. I find it also degrading/humiliating when someone says that you need to be part of a sect to complete your Deen, as if being Muslim is not enough, astaghfirullah. Again, the Holy Quran is a complete, fully detailed, and our Creator made it easy for us, which also means no mediator or intermediary is needed between a Muslim and Allah subhanahu wa taala. Ayat ul Kursi In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Salaam Alaykum. Question: I am not a Muslim (I am a Catholic) but does Islam (Sunni or Shi'a) have anything that'd be the equivalent to the Church Fathers of Christianity? Shi'a seems to be more "Catholic" structurally (examples include the focus on tradition and scripture, the orientation towards the Ahl al-Bayt mirroring the Catholic view toward saints, the Twelve Imams mirroring Christ's Apostles/apostolic succession). I've seen some Muhammad Hijab (a Sunni) debates with several Shi'a and he seems to take a more "Protestant" (scripture alone) view when debating. Catholics and Orthodox aren't as well versed in Biblical scripture as a Protestant, but will often defer to the early Church Fathers that give the Bible some context (which Protestants usually lack). I'm wondering if Shi'a Islam has something similar. Thanks for reading.

The main difference in Shia and Sunni teachings can be understood by knowing where the teachings are taken after Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w) left this world. The Sunnis take the teachings from the Sahabah and their understanding of Quran reflects their understanding. This Shias, take their teaching from the Ahlulbayt (household of Prophet Muhammad (s)) after Prophet Muhammad (s), and that reflects in their understanding of Quran.

Thaqlain - Islamic Reminders thank you for responding. I guess another way to phrase my question is: are there any important Shi’a theologians that were around near the time of the Prophet (pbuh)? I’m aware of Averroes and Avicenna but I’m not sure if they were Shi’a. Are you aware of any other theologians?

Avicenna was not alive at the time of the Prophet.. Prominent companions including Bilal, Salmane Farsi, Abu Zarr and many more were shias and adhered to the teachings of Quran and Ahlelbayt and had an important role in spreading Islam which we now today as shia teachings.

What's really sad is this kind of thinking is why Allah SWT took Prophet Muhammads (peace be upon Him) sons at such early ages r.a. because Allah did not want people raising their status over or to the status of Prophets (peace be upon them all) and fighting over power. If Ali r.a. had problems with the first 3 caliphs I'm positive there would be numerous sayings directly from Him illuminating this and He was no coward He would of claimed His rightful position but we here nothing from Him about such things. Instead we find that He worked with them and supported their rule. Why would He place Hasan and Hussein r.a. as guards at Uthmans r.a. if he had no love for him? Why would he serve as a judge for Umar r.a. and why would he make the famous statement about Abu Bakr r.a. when he passed away?

There is read Imam Ali’s sermon in najhal balagha he explains why did not not fight the 3 caliphs and why he endured instead it was a conmand from Ali and he said that the prophet told him he would face many challenges in his life after his death and this is what he meant that his gift he got from Allah on the day of ghardir where he was declared the leader and yet still the companions took his leadership and these are the same companions you say may god bless them like come on you some brain cells

The sunnah of prophet Muhammad SAW is preserved in sunni teachings and comes down to the presetvation and rijal science of the hadith. As a shia you should he aware that the shias borrowed from the oroginals preservations of core sunni texts. This whole sunnism is banu ummayah islam is a lovely narrative pushed into layman shia to try and solidify the shia thought process that shia'i are the ones who truly preserve islam. It is an oversimplification and ridiculous statement to think that sunni scholars arent aware of early islam and influences of the caliphates. Neither you nor i stand any where in regards to classical scholars. And when it comes to authenticating hadith pertaining to your imam baqir and imam sadiq, by shia AND sunni standards your sanad fall short of strong chains (daeef and mursal) and contain "annoymous" individuals. This why sunnis challenge the shia narrative. 3 examples of this are 1. Not reciting dua kumayl on Thursdays because of the unreliability of the sanad of the hadith that speaks to do so. 2. The karbala narrative changing enormously(ghuluw of the martyrs - the classical sources from which modern karbala texts and matam are derived from are dramatically different in the statistics and narrative) 3. The story of the death of fatima at the hands of umar (a story that was not recounted amongst thebearly members of ahlul bayt ie. Imam baqir and sadiq and first appears 300 years later after the event. Shia islam politicises islamic history and an extremely skewed view which provokes a very emotional response in many muslims but where are facts to back up these claims? And while you're at it, point out tonmenqho in the ahlul bayt prayed on specifically on the turbah? Did Rasulallah SAW ever pray on a turbah specifically? Bit hypocritical when you say taraweeh is bidah (Rasulallah SAW prayed in congregationin Ramadan- not as a compulsory prayer but he did regardless) yet no instance of a turbah is mentioned in his life, explain how that is not considered bidah

@@friedeggswithbeef Hello I don't get what you're saying as we derive our hadiths directly from the prophets and his Ahlul Bayt and their proper companions. We have hadiths relating to all the incidents you mentioned and they are even mentioned in Sunni Sahih as well. All the narratives you mentioned are authentic historical extracts that are reliable in both Sunni and Shia texts. We do have Ilm Al rijal in all our teaching especially in howza. Furthermore, the preservation of Islam can be done by anyone the only difference is that we take out traditions based on the ones we trust by how they lived their lives. No offense as just trying to explain but we don't consider Ayesha as an authentic narrator of hadiths whereas we consider Umm Salama as more authentic. both are the wives of the prophet and both have narrated hadiths but Sunni Muslims consider Ayesha as authentic whereas Shia hadiths consider Um Salama as authentic. SO in this regard, there becomes a difference in traditional heritage and hadith heritage in both our sects. We study our own hadiths using our own trusted sources and are very critical of them, I've heard that there was a sheik that spent several years just trying to prove one hadith. This is because we are very critical of hadiths and their narrators. Also, one of the reasons that it was so hard to get extracts from Ahlul Bayt other than imam Jaffar A.S is because most of them were persecuted by the caliph of the time and martyred through that and what they taught would be burned or rid of. So if you actually do find some inconsistencies then they are either irrelevant to the core arguments (such as the legitimate successorship of Ahlulbayt) we make or that they have risen because of the attacks on our hadiths. If this is what you meant then I hope It answered somewhat. Also just to add, the fact is we have plenty of authentic hadiths is legitimate for our clause. These are also found majorly in Sahih books in our Sunni brother's texts. So the case that we don't have legitimacy is not correct because if its found in both our and your books our stories and your stories are not found in ours there exists an inconsistency. This inconsistency exists only where the texts are not corresponding majorly. btw this is just my opinion hope it helped.

Now the idea that some how ur superior because of ur numbers is nonsensical. Christians outnumber us. Should i become christian or u? No. Its because islam makes sense. Its simple, We dont have any clue about Imamah, infallibility and appointment of Imams and salvation is to consider 12 imams as divine authority to change shariah in Quran. We know Shia sources are not older than Sunni sources and Shias totally copy ilm ur rijal from Sunnis. Most of their narrations are wrongly attributed to Ahl ul Bait. Hence not reliable. Last, Shias blame people who were trusted by Muhammad pbuh, Even slander about the wives of Prophet pbuh who were called Umhaat Ul Momineen by Allah. So either they dont trust choices of Muhammad pbuh or they are following someones else religion like Ibn e Sabaa. For us Sunnis Shias are far away from actual Islam and are just like Qadianis and other deviant sects. Who made a religion out of political differences amongst companions and made two parties Family of Prophet pbuh and His wives and friends. Complete nonsense.

My family is a Shia and my family and I dislike sayings such as “ya Ali”, “ya hussain”, “ya Fatima” etc etc I really don’t like it when Shias put the name ya -- on a hand and hang it. All praise belongs to Allah. We should call to no one but God for help and we do not need any mediator in between. I know why shias call on them because they believe they were good people and so God would listen to them. But God doesn’t need you to be a close to perfect human to warrant you being heard by him. I love that Shias are close to prophet Mohammad’s blood relatives but this practice of putting mediators between us and God needs to stop.

@@Thaqlain praising someone doesn’t mean we take them as mediators in this world. The Quran literally says and I’m paraphrasing, God alone we worship and God alone we ask for help. It does say God alone we worship and The infallible believers we call upon to tell God to help us. I know there were people who asked prophet Mohammad to speak on behalf of them to God when they wanted God to forgive them but they did that when he was alive. You can’t ask someone who passed away for help. At the end of the day they are humans and have human limitations. The dead cannot help you. Maybe in the after life you can ask prophet Mohammad’s family to speak on your behalf but it’s not right to do it in this world. I love ahlul bait with all my heart. I think they were as close to perfect as humans can be (although not infallible). and 100% with no doubt that God speaks highly of them and even asks as to follow in their footsteps, but that’s not an invitation to call on people who passed away for help.

@@Thaqlain if your talking about the verse about martyrs not being dead, I believe that and that verse applies to any martyr in Islam not just the prophets blood relative. The children of Gaza are also martyrs and they are pure, does that mean I can use them as mediators to reach god. No. Use your brain. They both accept guardianship of Imam Ali. The Usuli using narrations reached a conclusion that in absence of Imam a jurist proficient in Usul al-Fiqh. The Akhbaris don't believe in Usul al-Fiqh. That's the only difference. The core beliefs are 100% identical.

To which you don't have a single authentic narration according to your own scholars, and to which such a conspiracy theory doesn't even make sense. Jews are Monotheists not polytheist, Shias are strong Monotheists. Christians are the ones who worship a man as the physical incarnation of God. At least try to improve your conspiracy theory and make up a Christian (instead of a Jew) who started rebelling against the Umayyads who led armies of Ahlulbayt worshipers or something, something more plaurable to the initial claim you are making. But we still run up against the problem that Shias only worship Allah, and are stronger Monotheists than Sunnis, Shias oppose all forms of anthropomorphism and hold apophatic theology (denying even attitudes to God to avoid shirk).
