This is insanely useful. Thanks so much for putting this guide together; I'm defending my master's thesis tomorrow and needed exactly this solution. I was having some trouble because mission control wouldn't show me both presenter view and presentation mode-it was only one or the other. I fixed that by updating to Microsoft's latest version of Powerpoint (which first required me to update my MacOS). Putting this here in case anyone encounters a similar problem. Thanks again!

Addendum: I had to update to the latest version of Zoom as well, or else I would click my slides, and it would share presenter mode anyway. Now that everything is updated, it works perfectly as explained in the video.

Amazing tips! Not knowing that I could got to mission control to access ZOOM session as well as other apps I may need for a presentations (such as iTunes music playback), drove me crazy ! Now I can toggle between all of them as needed and of course the fact that the slide show window remains available to share to ZOOM audience is priceless!

This is fantastic information for us Mac laptop users with only one screen! I tested it out by starting a recorded meeting on Zoom and then viewing the recording afterward, and the full screen share worked perfectly for the slides while still allowing me to see my notes in Presenter Mode. You've saved me a lot of worry, as just sharing the slide portion of my Presenter screen was messing up the resolution, so thanks VERY much!

If you are having an issue where you are not seeing three powerpoint windows opend like at 4:42 Make sure the operating system, Zoom and Powerpoint are all up to date. I had a similar issue where only one Powerpoint was shown. But updating the OS and these apps helped resolving the issue!

I would like to pre-record a web class that shows powerpoint slides and a side gallery view of me and another host so viewers can watch the slides and us on the right hand side of the screen. The standard view when viewed as an attendee on the Live webinar looks right but when I record it's only recording the slides on show on my computer and not our faces next to the slides. Could you recommend how to fix this and add our faces to the right hand side of the power point slides when we record. Simply put: How can I record my camera view and screen at the same time whilst being a host. Thanks. Sam.

In the Zoom app, go into the Settings. On a Mac, click on the zoom.us menu item when the Zoom app is running. In the menu list click on Preferences to open the Settings dialog. Go to the Recording section of the Settings. Make sure the "Record video during screen sharing" is checked and the "Place video next to the shared screen in the recording" is checked. That will record your videos and place them to the right of the full screen slides. Hope that helps.

This is very useful. Thank you. The only thing that didn't work for me, was the Mission Control. Clicking on the Control button and the up arrow did nothing. Also tried left and right arrows. I just finally used Command and tab (an old hint I've used for years that shows all my applications and got back to zoom that way. However, I'd like to be able to open all my windows at once like you did. Do you know any other way. I'm on a Macbook OS Monterey.

In Zoom the host can allow anyone to share their content. They know you will need to share so they should set it up that way. At the start of the meeting just double check that they have that option set and you will be good to go. Good luck with the presentation!

It's like some of the images from previous slides cling to the new slides presented. This is not a problem when I use your old method, so I wonder why it would be like that. Hi! This is a helpful video, but when I get to the step where I share the slide show, that's all I can see on my screen (presenter view is hidden). I don't see an "attendee screen" like you do. Zoom and Powerpoint are totally updated. Any idea why this could be happening? Thanks!

It sounds like the Slide Show window became the focus of the operating system. You can return to Presenter View through Mission Control. The "Attendee screen" you see in my video is added in the video editing so I can show people what their attendees see. It is not something you will see on your screen.

Problem solved: the problem was the version of zoom, not of powerpoint ;) I just updated to the new version and now is working

I am not sure if the new update caused the changes in PPT I am recently experiencing, but when using the HDMI connection for a projector use, my ppt presenter view doesn't show my notes as it used to. I have tried researching it everywhere but I am not getting any answers. I do hope that your advice offered in this video is going to solve the problem.

I am not aware of any changes that make the notes disappear in Presenter View. You may want to check that the section of the screen for the notes has not been accidentally resized to be so small it is not visible.

You should also be able to bring up the menu that is accessed in the lower left of the screen by right-clicking anywhere on the slide. See if that helps.

Hmm. I tried to do this on my MacBook but after I open Presentation View and go to Mission Control I don't see a separate window displaying just the slides. Do you have to adjust some of the settings? Now that I think of it, I don't see my Normal View when I open Mission Control either. Seems like when I enable Presenter View it just replaces the Normal View, and it doesn't open up a second window. Any ideas?

I just had a chance to test this on my MacBookAir. It worked just as it does in the video so I am not sure what the issue may be. I am not aware of any settings that would cause the behavior that you describe. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Correction: I'm sorry, Yes I can see my zoom meeting window, and click on the share icon again, and when I select the slideshow view, then it takes the whole screen and I can't see my notes window.

When you switch to Presenter View (approx. 1:17 in the video) and then use the Mission Control (approx. 1:48 in the video) you should be able to see the 3 screens. If you have an older version of PowerPoint this may not work (I don't have older versions to test).

When using Presenter View you should use the built-in laser pointer to point to items on the slide using the slide in the Presenter View window. That way you are always pointing at the correct spot. When I was pointing to the picture in my slide and trying to explain the concept, the attendees found it strange that the pointer was moving in a different area. This could be because the presenter view is smaller than the slide view. I decided to avoid using the arrow or laser pointer and explain the diagram or picture with words instead. Thank you again.

You assume that your software can contain all my notes. I do not want mirroring so I can use my one notes in Word. Please make that happen and not assume that I want to use the Powerpoint notes screen.
