1 vs 1 winter catfishing challenge!

In this fishing video myself and @hookedupwithcuzineli braved the first cold front of the year to target huge blue catfish and it paid off big time. The big catfish came out in force and we took complete advantage. The cold weather turns on big catfish for some reason and we caught some monsters! In my experience winter catfishing might be the best time to catch big blue catfish.

It's been in the teens at night up here and 30s during the day. Guess the insulated bibs and warm uppers are on call

Down here in Texas we rarely get below freezing. Only a couple days a year we have to wrap our pipes. But it generally goes from 80’s to 40’s overnight in 1 day. It’s normally a shock to the environment

Great catches gents. Is it better to fish the bayous rite now with the colder weather versus say the brazos river?? Fished yesterday and today and skunked

If the river isn’t biting neither are the bayous. Most likely a weather pattern that made the bite die. Or the fish have moved into a deeper or shallow area of the water. Just gotta keep trying

@@chrisp3982 some weeks the fish just aren’t as active, things normally slow down when the weather drops below 60°. Just keep trying or switch up species. Not sure what your targeting.
