I had a Japanese Kobe beef filet in Kyoto in this nice restaurant that specialized in meat packing /supplying ( they had the cuts on display behind glass like a museum) It cost USD 120 for an 8 oz. The chef cooked it over a hibachi with slivers of melted garlic after cutting the meat into slices that could be eaten with chopsticks. It was amazing and every mouthful was a treasured ephemeral experience because it would melt in your mouth!

For anyone wondering if it’s worth it to get the Japanese wagyu, yes it is . But good for a special occasion make sure to read instructions or watch videos about how to defrost it, properly season it and cook it.
