Agree, I have experienced this on my own skin yesterday and I had 2fa set. Few of my friends got their accounts hacked before me, and they all had text messages set for 2fa, and it seems they can be easily compromised. Currently I'm waiting for my U2F key as it's the only thing that actually works and keep our account from being hacked.

Yeah, it doesn't do anything, Facebook's security is a joke. The amount of people that had problems with their accounts being stolen despite having 2FA is more than enough to file a class action lawsuit.

@@teIezet 2FA is significantly better than no 2FA. It's not bulletproof armour it's just another tool you have, that can help prevent yourself from getting hacked.

@@teIezet True - mine got hacked where the hacker changed the password and added an additional email address. Issue with Meta / Facebook is it's an advanced advertising platform. Not at all security focused & designed to have you use it so you will see the adverts (like KZbin / Android - which are also advanced advertising platforms). So they spend more time developing the platform than protecting it.

I had 2 factor authentication and I still got hacked. I got a text but didn't reply because I was sleeping. Facebook sent me an email to my secondary email at 7am is this you. I was still sleeping and didn't respond. At 9 am the hacker had already changed my email and password. I was able to login. Then the hacker changed my password and email again. I did this 5 times. I'm still locked out.

Good hackers can do much more than that, but at least it's an extra layer of security. Better than just needing to guess a UN & PW.
