Jon Gosling check the other tuning video in the TUNING playlist, which also has Helix used in it. Having said that, i can’t show EVERYTHING! This topic is something everyone wants to know everything about, but i can not give everything away for free as i run a business and have a competition team too, so it’s a very sensitive field, where i shouldn’t share anything to be fair, yet i try to help others too. I’m gonna offer 2 packages for tuning and training, but they won’t be cheap in most people’s eyes.

@@pssound9749 I'm just looking for enjoyment of your content so please don't take my comment as troll. I fully understand. I've been around high end audio for over 20 years myself and used to manage a shop with several industry jumps as well. Been tuning with DSP's since the 90s starting with the Sony ES XDP-210EQ, one of the early true DSPs. I'm not looking for you to lift the kilt at all. Was just hoping for a little content in the DSP's GUI for entertainment value. Peter, i truly appreciate you doing these tuning videos. I’ve been doing a lot of self home schooling on how to tune before I buy the mic kit from Audio frog to do my own tune. I tuned it all by ear as of right now. I know it’s not done right till I use a mic and REW . Funny how you mentioned if I have peaks from one side to the other it will take away the center image/stage of the voice . My system will take the image from center to the left in a split second then go back to the center. Fades back and forth. I figured the reason was due to what you mentioned but I wasn’t sure. Now thanks to you I know for %100 peaks are the cause of that symptom. Again thank you so much for all your videos. I find my self reading everything I already read due to information overload. I think I need to hurry up and buy the kit so I can play and learn with it at the same time.

Remote tuning is tough. Nick helped me with mine, and even tho the FR looked good in REW, and I thought it sounded good at 2am (after being up for about 24hrs) when I got some sleep and got up the next morning, not so much. I can't blame Nick, I'm sure it was my fault...I probably didn't have my TA set right or something. REW doesn't tell the whole story. But it's certainly a helpful tool. This was a few years ago.

@pssound97493 жыл бұрын
If it doesn’t sound good as it is right now, then it will sound pretty similar with the Zapco amp too. Amp change is not gonna make a day & night difference! You have way bigger impact on how a system sounds by the way the speakers are installed and how the system is tuned. Instead of remote tuning i’ll start an online training program soon, so people will have a chance to go to school again. 👍🔊🔊

Peter , Measuring sound with a RTA/REW vs measuring electricity with a oscilloscope, seems sound has a much higher learning curve then electricity does. I’m a automotive tech and I do all of the electrical diagnostics In the shop. I’ve been using a scope for many years now. Haven’t had hands on with a RTA/REW as of yet. I don’t know if you have experience with a oscilloscope or not. If you do , would you say my comment stands true or is it kind of the same and I believe it’s more of a learning curve because I understand how to use a scope and not REW?
@pssound97494 жыл бұрын
myboy051 acoustic measurements in a car are the most difficult. Anyone can download REW and get a mic, but the magic is in the technique, then how to read measurements and apply settings. It’s something rather complex when we also look at T/S specs of speakers, understanding speaker limitations and system management. Does it help or answer your question? 😃
@myboy0514 жыл бұрын
Pssound - Yes it does, I’m 39 Years old been into car audio since I was around 17-18 years old . I’ve always had a system in all of my vehicles and did most of my friends installs. Was kind of a bass head, what young man wasn’t at first. Over the past 2 years I’ve become a big SQ enthusiast. I’ve learned so much by watching your videos and reading forums without putting in my two cents. Along with tuning I’ve been doing research on how to read speaker parameters and what will work best for the given application. I love geeking out over most things that I do and take interest in. Funny enough the shop I bought my equipment from “Sound in motion”here in Boston MA wanted to see my install. Did pillars and sail panel active 3 way install kind of like this video. Derek Kenney the owner asked me if I wanted a job. I told him I’m so far invested into being a automotive tech and I don’t wanna turn my hobby into a job. It’s good to know that everything that I learned from watching your videos was able to be applied to my install and get a job offer out of it. Not sure if you ever heard of the shop but he is well known In the states.
