This week marks the 1 year anniversary of the US military withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Taliban took to the streets of Kabul earlier this week to celebrate the anniversary. August 15th is now a public holiday. Others in the country are not celebrating. The United Nations says nearly half the country faces acute hunger and some people still fear for their lives and are trying to flee the country. One US based group is helping. The Vulnerable People Project continues its year-long mission to bring people out of Afghanistan to safety. President of the Vulnerable People Project and host of the Jason Jones Show, Jason Jones, joins to give us an update on how many people remain in Afghanistan who want to leave. Jones shares what the daily life is like for people in the country. Critics of the Biden Administration continue to say we should never have left as we did. Jones tells us his take on that. Once people flee Afghanistan they still need help. He talks about some of the ways his organization helps. Jones fills us in on where our viewers can go to find more information if they would like to help.
