Grapeseed oil is moisturizing, but light. Next is coconut oil, a tad heavier but still light enough for straight hair. I use them to moisturize my mbl hair when straight.

I know, I may not do it that often, when I was straightening my hair before I did it every two weeks which is way more than what I said, but I mean I know how to care for my hair and stuff now so Im just saying If I feel like I want to flat iron it, I will. Im not necessarily on a "dont flat iron for a year" again ya know ;-)

"its a 10" miracle hair serum is a miracle worker literally. it's the lightest serum I've ever used without leaving my hair heavy or oily feeling. it also creates "slip". you know when you use oils or serums you can't run your fingers thru your hair? well yea. but I also highly recommend "Livingproof" products. sephora has some of their line. they're AMAZING products! also try grapefruit oil for deep conditioning (promotes hair growth). and coconut oil!!

Hair rollers and rapping your hair at night right after, is a great and gentle way to straighten your hair.( Flat iron KILLS your hair) And applying coconut oil to your shampoo and conditioner, not only gives shine but strengthens your hair. And it also promotes hair growth.

Garnier Fructis serum changed it's ingredients! :( I said the same thing about my hair. Ever since they tried to add "argan oil" to the Sleek & Shine line, it hasn't been the same. Paul Mitchell's skinny serum is a happy medium of not too heavy/too light. The "Super Skinny" line also has "Gloss Drops" which I was told is perfect for using AFTER you've straightened. Hope this helps! Buy it from Ulta so you can try it out & return it if you don't like it! ;)

Mine was like that when I straightened it two weeks ago. I used the granier fructis serum also. I just think the serum isn't able to work as well when the humidity is so high. You should aim at straightening your hair only in the winter when the air is dryer, otherwise you'll be disappointed everytime. Oils work better at keeping moisture out and keeping your hair straight, but they are really greasy feeling so it's a lose lose.

And another thing the reason why your first day hair is always poofy and dry might be the temperature of the flat iron, the serum you use, and the flat iron you use. I used to use a conair flat iron a couple years ago and my first day hair looked JUST like that.. I used to anticipate the 3rd day for smooth hair. But I upgraded to a solia flat iron which is kind of expensive and my first day hair is really smooth. I wear it out same day sometimes without wrapping over night and it's smooth

Try oil sheen. I spray the ends of my hair lightly and then wrap it up to let it soak in. That usually does the trick for me. It's not heavy/ greasy at all as long as you don't use too much
@jojoxo10011 жыл бұрын
I think you should get it flat ironed at the salon because it's not completely straight at the moment which won't make it last as long! So proud your hair is growing well! Straightening it once a month might make it start to break off though, but see how it goes for the first few months and the first sign of it breaking off and getting shorter, go back to leaving it curly for longer periods of time!
@thatfashiongeek8711 жыл бұрын
Try using the Carol's Daughter Macadamia Finishing Shine Mist or the serum (the serum is technically for heat protection but I use it when I have frizzies or poof). Both are very light and contain no parabens, mineral oil or petroleum! It also contains ingredients like honey extract to help heal/seal split ends and henna extract that helps seal your cuticle to protect it against any damage and enhances the shine.
@alinasept11 жыл бұрын
Argan oil. Really lightweight and my hair seems to absorb it instead of it just sitting on it. Also love chi silk infusion serum, it's THE BEST when I flat iron my hair. It's lightweight, gives lots of shine & smells great. One tip I would add is instead of putting the serum in all at once, put it on in sections or on each individual piece of hair as you flat iron because it gets distributed more evenly. Just be very careful about how much u use because you can end up weighing down your hair.

Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell works very well. Just use a pea size of it,and dry it into your hair. If needed, when it is dry, use another pea size of it. It also is a serum, but it works better, than the serum you mentioned in this video. Your hair looks beautiful and healthy. I hope you reach your desired goal, on the length your trying to obtain. Best wishes!

Your hair is beautiful but I do see what you are saying about the dryness, which I've never seen in any of your other straight hair videos. I use Garnier Fructisse (spelling?) also, but my favorite is the Dove anti frizz nourishing hair serum. They make one in a medium size bottle and one in a small bottle. It's the one in the small bottle the medium on is mixed with stuff. It smells good, and is not an oil but a SERUM and it works better than the Garnier!

Olive oil is best to use. I use to straighten my hair every 2 weeks and now that I do it once a month it has grown a lot, just about as long as yours grew (minus like 2 inches) when you were curly so flat ironing once a month shouldn't break anything off. Just use olive oil on the ends and a leave in conditioner before blowing dry.
@DorianParpari11 жыл бұрын
I found that using garner fructis products made my hair really dry too. The first time I straightened, Perhaps try tresemme products? My last flat iron was softer with all Tress. For 2014 I am avoiding heat. I just tried the curl formers for a straighter sleeker style and love it. I only wish I got on it sooner.

The thickening is probably from pregnancy but if It is once those hormomes are out of you system it'll go back to how it was. And if your hair feels dry you should try coconut oil as I see quite a few people suggested. Oils don't moisturize only water and water based products moisturize, oils coat your hair except for coconut oil.
