I've had my Tuned BMW 135i for about 1 year to 1 and half years. This is the maintenance cost involved in owning it. Everyone buying a BMW should know this.
I then break down what maintenance is expected for BMWs of different mileages. Lastly I broke down my mods and if i would buy his car again and/or do anything differently.
This car was not as expensive as I was expecting to maintain. It was much cheaper than my N54 335i's.
Buying a BMW is a wonderful experience when you get a good one. Get a bad one and it wont be much fun. The parts for these cot more than the Evo, couldn't believe it.

6 years into my ownership of my 2013 135i, with the last 3 years tuned for just short of 400ps, all ive had is the water pump that died... hardly due to tuning. My engine is an absolute gem. And i even go for a handful of track days every year.

honestly people talk so much trash but BMW is rock solid brand i worked at a toyota dealer and we serviced all cars though. i ran into a lot of BMW's and the driving feel between a honda toyota nissan vs bmw jaguar and such is a massive difference

PARTS are not expensive it's the Labor them cars are compact. Get a Mechanic that works only in foreign cars and has a shop on the side. It's cheaper if you get one that works on his private time and can use his shop to fix just about anything

When you do the work yourself yeah it aint so bad. However its a time drain. All these repairs either cost alot of time to do it yourself or a lot of money to get a mechanic to do it. Ive done both. I had fuel pump, coolant system, and o2 sensors done via mechanic. None if these costed me less than $1000 each to do. I also had to do my oil filter housing gasket. $1200 job but i did it myself for less than 100 dollars. The only parts that are expensive are the high pressure fuel pump, injectors and turbos. These cars are wild cards. In my opinion the car is worth the headaches. I love my 135i but i also make alot of money. Not trying to flex but its just a reality. These are not budget friendly cars. You better not have any kids, student loans or any other financial burdens. This car will be THE financial burden. But for me i wouldnt want it any other way.

Watching this in 2024. I have a 2013 135 Cabrio. The person before me took very good care of it. I am running a Dinan Stage 2 with a cold air intake and I changed out the Charge Pipe with the Aluminum. Not sure about the fuel pump but good to know. Thanks.

Hello great video. Should I buy a 2008 i35 3.0? Never owned one everything seems to check out. I don’t want to do miss just use as daily driver. Please advise.

08 135i would be an n54, if the mileage is low and maintenance is done id say go for it. The manuals are definitely better than the autos in that year.

The N55 is an underrated engine. Stuff isn’t that hard, BMW just wants to make money off people. Most of the maintenance is pretty straight forward.

Almost 2 year 135i owner, $7000 into it so far (maintenance and performance) One thing I haven’t done yet is new wheels. What wheel set up are you using in reference to the sizes. Looks really good.

Very nice man, these cars are so much fun. So the wheels I’m running are apex arc-8- Front: 18x8.5" ET45 with 235/40-18 tires. Rear: 18x9.5" ET58 with 265/35-18 tires

Zero rubbing. I’m running federal tires which means they run a little wider than they claim. (IE a 265 fits more like a 275)

What mileage did you get your 135i at?
@anthonystanley3853
@anthonystanley3853 2 жыл бұрын
@@antoinedantley3679 I purchased the car at 134k miles. The previous owner did not take care of the car like he should have, hence the $7000+ in maintenance and performance. But I should also add that the work was done at home whereas a shop would have cost a lot more.

@@anthonystanley3853 If you wouldn't mind, could you share some of the things you did? Sounds like you did a little overhaul, bushings and all fluids, etc? Water pump? High pressure fuel pump? Oil filter housing unit? I'm assuming you did all of those too, lol. I still envy you a little, would love a 135i, I'm ready for turbo power compared to my 2002 325ci. But what notable issues did you have with yours? Cheers

Any oil leaks throughout the lifetime of your car?
@boostedbijan
@boostedbijan 3 ай бұрын
This bmw thankfully no. Every other bmw I’ve had yes lol. OFHG and oil pan gaskets are the most common on these cars. Both relatively easy fix. OFHG is important to address immediately. Oil pan isn’t as important.
