@@natesiress1057 Gearing shells are the best at that, and land at an almost vertical angle (~ 70 degrees from the horizontal) if you fire at max range with AFT and range mod equipped. Hitting anyone at that range isn't easy though, with an almost 25 second travel time. I'm pretty sure they're the slowest shells in the game once you take air drag into account. (Incidentally, Atlanta has the same shell trajectories)

I think the point gets across. Petro has a fairly small citadell, and combined with the small freeboard is unlinkely to get dev-struck when showing broadside briefly. But its still big enough to get reliably hit. So in the context he is talking about 13:35, you will absolutely get smashed if you push in a position where enemies can get multiple salvos on your broadside. Its not like the puerto rico wich is literally not citadellable by a bunch of ships.

He keeps saying how fun it is, but its fun because its completely over powered. its literally a battleship that moves like a cruiser, cant catch on fire. rail gun 8 inch guns that pen like they are 16 in guns for some reason. best aa in the game. radar. basically indestructible nose on. whats not to like..........unless you are the enemy. Imagine citadelling multiple battleships at 12kms with 8 inch guns and not thinking theres anything wrong with that then bouncing 16 inch guns at 8 kms. I literally watch a video where a petro bounced a 20 inch shell at 20 kms :D

@@jebes909090 Well same goes for both sides. Petro does not overmatch any battleship. if the battleship angles, petro will not be able to citadell. Ofc petro is an insanely strong ship, but there are ships that counter it. A goliath e.g. will shred a petro every day a week. petro can not overmatch, so as long as goliath stays angled, he is safe from the AP. Meanwhile goliath has 59mm HE pen and any shell hit on petro will be a full pen, unless it hits the turret. But ofcause it speaks volumes, that you need an arguably overpowered battle cruiser and still need to be very very very careful to be able to pull off any sort of pushing play. Pushing is fun. petro is one of the few ships that can actually do it somewhat reliably. So playing petro is probably the most fun you can have, if you want to push^^

You're way to reliant on your teammates. 18 second radar doesn't do shit when nobody shoots the dds and the boat lacks the maneuverability to effectively disengage. You find your cozy spot on an island and if everyone leaves or your dds suck you just get torped to death. Your radar gives you ONE shot on dds thats it. In this meta with 4 dds every match it can be incredibly demoralizing

Potato U play Petro through concealment build, I do it through Heavy AP Maneuver build. Petro was always an animal. But with Hard Build(no concealment)... that thing just Kaiju in it's class, that just reap and tear enemy for tons of liquid adhesive. Literally, Petro is a cruiser for Republique mains. It's not a cruiser, it's a Steamroller. (I play Petro since it came into the game.)

Petro has a heavy cruiser concealment with battlecruiser firepower and BB tankiness (or even better). And dont forget the flat and fast shell arcs with 12km radar to keep the dds (mostly) away. Balans komrade.

Yea but it has trash accuracy, poor maneuverability and no easy mode HE spam. Flat shell arcs are not always good either you cant shoot from behind islands and Petro is only tanky from the front, since it does not have an underwater citadel like some Alaska.

oddly enough ive found petros long range dispersion to not be that bad, and with the meta being what it is i've fitted range mod. i've found the high velocity and reduced arming threshold makes it a good sniper when you cant move in close, while not giving up much on reload and keeping the turret traverse a little faster.

I played deadeye Vermont a lot lately, fought some Petropavlovsks, and many times i citadelled from the front, while he was slightly angled. Now eating a huge citadel, and also some penetrations from Vermont is ofc catasthropic damage that cannot be healed back, so we could deal with him. Not sure how it is possible, but the accuracy is so good, many of my shells went where i wanted them to go: aiming for the turrets, and the superstructure as long as he was not completely bow on. Looks like she has some kind of citadel weakness there. She can also citadel the shit out of Vermont, in return.

Commander skills rework has impacted on the Petro's tankiness a little.

Not being able to spec against fires hurts cruisers that have no heal. My main problem with commander skills for cruisers is the out right lie by WG that you have more options. There is basically one build now. Before you could build for defensive, stealthy, sniper, secondary. That is why I enjoyed cruisers so much is the game play options it offered vs other classes. The only real option build now is DPS stealth or DPS spotted.

But cruisers without heal are t8 and below, and on those ships your health pool is relatively small, so (since fires are percentage based) even a full duration fire is not that big of a deal. And to be honest: building fire prevention on ships that aren't supercruisers or battleships was a waste of 4 points.

And yes it was worth it to have the skill that makes fires burn for a shorter duration, for some cruisers to have one less fires on the super structure. On some cruisers you had the points to spend because other skills did not help you. Like increasing AA, or more consumables for example. Being able to conserve any amount of HP when you have no heal is a big deal.

I don't know about the spaced armor. I've consistently punished petros who are not angled enough. It's easy to citadel a petro at short to medium range because there's less chance of you aiming high because of that ridiculously low freeboard ,

I never understood why many (famous CCs included) made such a big deal about fire prevention on Supercruisers. I never played these ships like BBs, trying to get attention and pulling fire away from light targets. And thats why the expensive fire prevention skils would ve been a waste. I get it that it made sense on the Stalingrad which has garbage concealment. However, this ship was op and needed a nerf. On the Alsaka for example i used to run both jack of all trades and faster dmg con. That brought my dmg con cooldown down to about 40 seconds. Sure, thats also not possible anymore, but most Supercruisers got a pretty good concealment with full build anyways. So you can always go dark if need be. The freakout isnt justified. However, i agree that the rework was done poorly by WG and the main reson for it was to nerf the living hell out of elite exp gain...

and ofc absurd module saturation (not just armor, size ect). It reasembles stalingrad on release, where first hit from AP insta saturated a module. If it had BB or other CA saturation values it wouldnt stand out in case of tankyness.

There's options in Aslain's modpack when you go to install it. You can select where it shows up on your screen. There's also a mini option where it just shows the angle as a number right next to your reticle, which is the one I use.

Pietro is like before that broken rework... and burn like cruiser no like bb as agir, alaska etc. Agir is now so broken and useless... each HE burn him... but shot to camper bb with survi makes that my 30% chance to set fire give me 3 fire sometimes on 80 hits... wg maths, but 7% ships set me each hit... and ofc torps, CV s , and laser guns bb also makes this ship one of the worst in game now... even hipper now has better dmg potential... its sad. Before rework i had on agir avg dmg 90- 120k and sometimes over 200k but now ? 60 - 80 k its max... ( alaska mutch better, radar and better ankel behind islands )

Why do you have to install them separately when they are official? Why doesn't the game just give us this information? A third party program to give you more game relevant information while playing (like the moving light thing behind an island is a bit like a wallhack) in a competitive game is cheating in my opinion. If it's really intended to have this infos then implement them in game. Like the aiming circle on the minimap. It's now vanilla and wasn't for a long time.
