What A 9k PR Game Looks Like

This game was played before 10.0 update.
Atago is my favorite cruiser in the game. It is incredibly flexible and is very good at carrying games, and supporting your destroyers. This game is the highest PR game I've had recently. Lots of fun to be had in this ship.

Atago is the one ship that WG managed to perfectly balance. She is my favorite cruiser. And she also looks great.

My first and favorite premium :) (well, the Gremy, Sims and some other ship from pre-order was technically first..) Only downside is a little bit low range after all the new ships got so long range.

When I was a total noob with literally 1 game in a T1 cruiser, I wanted the ship with the biggest guns for the smallest money. So I bought the Mutsu. And I got a rebate coupon with her which allowed me to get another ship for free, and that was the Atago. I hardly ever play Mutsu anymore, but Atago is one of my favorite cruisers. She is just so versatile and forgiving. Fast and stealthy. 4 sets of good range hard hitting torps with great firing angles. A fighter, hydro and a heal. Just a great ship.

@@dany1441 Nowadays after playing soo many games I play my the Atago way more than my Massa. You didn't necessarily make the wrong decision except monetarily I think Massa is more expensive lol. But Atago is arguably more fun to play imo.

@@SofaKingA I got Massa recently in a Black Friday container and she's awesome. And she probably is more expensive, but anyway, you can't compare the two. Atago is just a lot of fun.

Both are fun, but you're gonna be helpless in a Massachusetts if there are too many DDs. It's not reliable at whacking them outside of 13km with its main guns because of the dispersion. I have both, but I generally decide on what to play based on my div's other selections.

As someone with over 450 battles with this ship when I finally stopped playing, Atago's only true weakness (aside from her lack of radar) is her long reload time, so you have to make EVERY salvo count. When it comes to blowing up DDs and mass-firebombing BBs, 155mm Mogami does it better because you can just constantly throw walls of HE every 10 seconds (but pray to God that BB doesn't hit you though, otherwise you're dead). But if you are top tier....have fun. You will control the match as you'll outspot everything at your tier, barring DDs and Edinburgh. She has a special place in my memories because she earned me my first solo warrior (it was a 1v6 game and I killed 5 of them, would be 6 kills if one wasn't a friendly fire incident) and loads of krakens.

After studying from your vids, I went from "instant death, few mins after game started / super panic when getting shot at / not knowing what to do then wonder around then walk into a death trap" status to "start to get dd kills as ca/ able to hold a defence line by angle correctly in bb(still learning push tho) / not die and spot for my team as dd/ knows what cv suppose to do but still shitty at control aircraft to do attack run" status. Atago was the reason I bought dubloons. It is also one of the best looking ships in game. I am actually waiting to see if they'd come out with her sister ship "Maya" in her AA Cruiser configuration.

For me I got the Takao(arp) which was my first premium and let me say, it does not forgive me when you mess up. Like all Japanese-made ships, the citadel is an easy target and I paid for it on my first game, got wiped from full hp to nearly 100. But after getting used to it, it really is an awesome ship, good torps and he spammer galore.

Hmm, i was considering getting the Mainz, but Atago might be the better option. I'm not very experienced with cruisers, so i need a more forgiving ship. Plus i already have the Ochakov from the gift boxes for when i want to play a light cruiser.

American ships in general barring CVs are also easy to farm PR in. If you can break 100k damage in a Montana, you're almost guaranteed to get 2000+ PR.

13:40 Does killing dd really matters for PR? Based on this page (na.wows-numbers.com/personal/rating) , it doesn't seems to be the case. It seems to be based on the ration of damage, kills, and wins vs the average.

PR is based on damage done, kills, wins and XP. Killing a DD doesn’t do a lot for damage, but it significantly boosts the other three.

I have been playing WOW for 5 years..I have had the Atago for most of those years,,not because I love the ship on performance value..but rather it is one of the most beautiful ships in the game..really..take a good view of the ship..it is perfect ..but for gods sake..anybody else beside me wondering what the hell he is talking about..I have been detonated in this ship more than any other ship I have ever owned ...it is made out of glass..I have tried everything he is talking about without success ..at least what he is saying is normal...ffs..why is this game so unpredictable.

But what i really like is that the ARP collab brought me an Atago with slightly worse concealment. Its such a great ship ! Not really. With a shorter reload you will spend more time aiming and shooting, while a longer reload gives you time to manoeuvre, dodge, relocate and think about what to do next
