@TheHiller942 ай бұрын
@ there’s no risk to new trucks. It was debris that Toyota acknowledged may have gotten into engines built in a certain time. They aren’t just ticking time bombs. If someone wants to spend $91,000 on a truck, all the power to them. Toyota has also had a ton of recalls in the past. This is what makes them a good brand. They fix issues if it comes up. GM had v8s that would blow lifters in a ton of trucks and never even addressed the issue. I would rather buy a truck from a brand that stands behind their vehicles and issues recalls than one that railroads their customers and pretends there aren’t issues when there clearly are.

$10,000 markup for a vehicle with widespread engine failures going on for 2 into 3 model years where they continue to lie about the cause. "Machining debris" left in engines manufactured at two different plants across the planet (both in the US and Japan) but also identified back in '22 and still happening in '23 and now '24 model years. It's very clearly an engineering flaw and they're playing damage control/lying. I don't know why anyone with internet access would even consider looking at vehicles with the V35a engine: all new model Tundras, Sequoias, LX600, and GX550. Toyota is on fire right now and these dealerships are clueless.

The dealer in Columbia, MO had zero add-ons and had a small discount from MSRP (remember, this was during Covid and there were shortages). Why is building and special ordering not allowed? Wouldn’t it make sense to have a customer build and buy what they want? Get all the money up front and build the doggone vehicle??

I currently own a Toyota Avalon, bought new and I will not be buying another Toyota... not when I see dealer markups ... I'm looking at pickups and going toward gmc sierra 1500 Denali ultimate or ford f150 king ranch... and likely I'll be in the gmc cause of the 6.2l v8....

No he didn’t. Toyota happened to make one like he wanted. Anyone could’ve gotten it. Go to Toyota’s website, build your car, print it out and say can I order this today? No. However if Toyota happens to build one like it, you can try to get it. It may take months or even a model year to get it exactly like you want. Go to Ford’s site, build your vehicle, print it out and take it to a dealer and ask the same thing. They’ll say yes and in a few months, here comes the car specifically made for you. Honda and Toyota don’t do that.

I worked at Toyota for 30 years at the dealership and you can Custom order,, I don’t know where you’re getting your Information at. I turned off your video right & there, I just love when customers think they know more than those sales ,,, sometimes it’s downright hilarious

You can not order a Toyota. This hasn't been an option in the last 3 years. support.toyota.com/s/article/If-the-dealer-doesnt-7809?language=en_US Here is a source from Toyota, but I will take my apology. It makes me upset you stopped watching the videos, but also when you said it with such confidence. But where I am getting my information I do 60-80 Toyota's a month. I work with hundreds of dealerships a month. This information is given to me directly from dealerships and Toyota representatives. There is an allocation, not a custom order.
@trdrav42 ай бұрын
It usually is up to the regional office and/or dealer to allow your 'custom order' to go through or not...many dealers will not entertain that idea or the regional office will allow the dealer to configure an incoming allocation to allow you to choose your PIOs. If you are a Toyota employee and depending on which source you are ordering from (region or Toyota internal), many times you can "custom order" your vehicle regardless of how the region orders a vehicle.

I wanted in asked the dealer can I order the 4Runner I want…..it was huge dealer with huge allocation. They tried to find it already built , I did NOT want LX with third row. After the agent the First Lady talked about tried to find my color with no third row option. He said , no problem we will sit down ….we did …we wrote up a complete order, I went though every option, picked exactly what I desired . They used up an allocation for a 4 Runner they were due. They called Toyota America and put in the order for MY CAR … since it had to come from Japan it was 6-8 week wait . I was in no Hurry …it showed up in 7 weeks. In Florida port , where they also installed my auto running board option. Not every dealer gets as many many special Japanese cars like 4Runner ..it went exactly like the lady this four eyed dummy said she didn’t know what she was sayin…..how stupid oof him. He has been BS ‘d by many dealers who don’t or can’t use they allotment how ever they want. This deal that got me the 4Runner ordered it for me overrode the South eastern Dealers agreement. They said we can get you anything you want until the order date for the current model year runs out . ……that pussy boy is the dummy.

Confirmed, I worked at Honda and yes custom orders are possible. We ordered a 22 Civic Sport Hatchback with a manual transmission. They were insistent about a hatchback manual but didn’t want the Si. An option not even available on the website. They had to wait like a year but it was done. Our other colleagues didn’t believe it until it showed up. It’s up to the manufacturer to accept or deny the special order. We took a $5000 non refundable deposit for that vehicle. So yes it is definitely possible

Toyota dealerships are the slimiest of them all. They always have been. They were charging over MSRP for over 20 years at some dealerships. I have had them literally show me the door when was first exposed to this at a dealership.

And these same people will call up in two to three years wondering why they owe $75k on a car worth $65k, granted Toyotas hold there value like crazy but $10k over sticker is just flushing that money down the drain

4-6 weeks is a lie for sure... the custom order is somewhat true. If they take your order and match it to an allocation, then change the colour or trade for another colour, thats sort of like custom ordering. It's kind of splitting hairs.
@truckguy6.7Ай бұрын
Giving the sales person the benefit of the doubt obviously. Toyota doesn't work like GM or Ram. You can't order red seat belts and certain wheels like ordering a Corvette but if you stretched a little you could describe getting a client a vehicle through Toyota as being "custom". I guess it boils down to your definition of "custom"
