Caleb Arbour Not all the time during those years but I believe so about 30-40% of the time. Inbred UM fans don't even realize that UM only went up to East Lansing 4 times out of 40 before MSU became members of the Big Ten.

I totally agree with Luke Hayes. I'm glad that the BCS is over because it was just a rigged system meant to glorify Michigan, Ohio State, SEC teams like Alabama, and much other historically relevant teams. MSU was so much better than Michigan. We beat Michigan, Wisconsin once (should've twice) and a quality Georgia from the great SEC. Michigan had one quality win that year, and that was a 45-17 beat down against an overestimated Nebraska team.. Even in 1999, MSU beat Michigan 31-28 but Michigan went to the Orange Bowl, while msu went to the Citrus Bowl (Now Capital One) Both teams were 10-2 that year.. fuck the BCS. Glad it's done

@@Bradley94belletire The illustrious algorithm brought us together. And the CFP gives us Clemson, Bama, Ohio State, and a rando every year. So much better than the BCS, right? Not that I'm complaining about the Bucks, but the CFP has just hastened the consolidation of power that the BCS started. Now the sport is nothing but "win the natty or it was a failed season." Maybe the transfer portal will have some massive impact but, aside from allowing a rando to win every few years, I doubt it.

@@TookyG I mean to be fair though Bama, Clemson, Ohio State are dominant year in and year out. Although I do believe that Penn State should’ve gotten in over Ohio State in the playoffs the one year PSU won the Big Ten. I don’t think it’s as bad because the BCS was more sales driven nonsense. Michigan over MSU in 2011 was a fraud, much like Florida over Georgia. But we can’t really say Clemson, Bama, OSU, don’t deserve. They are dominating and it’s very evident. However I see the NY6 system as a failure much like the BCS. Florida went to the Peach Bowl over Kentucky when UK finally beat the Gators, and I’m sure there’s even more. I truly would like to see a 6 team playoff. 5 P5 champions, and either an undefeated G5 team or the next best P5. #1 and #2 get byes, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5.

Nope. The Coach I was talking about was Frank "Muddy" Waters. He was the worst Coach in MSU football history, from 1980-82 he had a record of 10-23 with an 8-18 Big Ten record. Him and John L. are the only MSU Coaches to never beat Michigan, Bobby got a very lucky one win in 2001 as u know

This situation is similar to what we have in Texas ( Texas vs TexasA&M) except we dominate our little brothers. We will always be better than the loser aggies. In this Case Michigan State is on the rise, if they can maintain success and Michigan keeps declining they will become the flagship team in Michigan. Michigan State will then be the Big Brother.

Those uniforms for Michigan State were the original teams colors way way back in the early 1930 until 1950 I think, and they were for representing the honor of Spartans because their shield was bronze and their suit was black I think, but I'm not sure. I know that's what those uniforms were for. As far as Michigan uniforms, all of them players wearing in those things were looking like a dozen of bumble bees.

Let me tell you all this Dantonio used to be a defensive and offensive coordinator for MSU. He know 98% of football plays. That is why Michigan Wolverines always lose a lot of games against the Spartans. We don't need former NFL Head Coaches like Jim Harbaugh to be a better football team.

Cousins, Martin and Cunningham were all average rated 3 stars on all recruiting services. Joel Foreman a 4 year starting lineman was a 2 star who didn't even get a Big Ten offer when he was at Milford. Kevin Pickleman wasn't even rated I think. Marcus Rush was a 3 star, Johnny Adams 3 star, Darqueze Dennard 2 star. So yea not all of MSU's best players were highly rated. MSU has never had better recruiting rankings than U-M so Kyles comment has more credibility

I love that MSU recruits two and three star recruits and coaches them up to be successful. (unlike michigan) LeVeon Bell was a 2-star recruit and now he's a freaking boss, Jerel Worthy was 2 or 3 stars and now he's one of the best D-lineman in the draft. I guess my point is that MSU doesn't buy top recruits to be successful, we coach the underrated ones to be great.

In general (minus the misery of the Rich Rod experiment and the Appalachian St. debacle...which still led to a happy ending beating Florida), you can count on Michigan doing pretty well. But when they both excel, it's a good look for the state of Michigan and the Big Ten. So again, when MSU is playing UM, my allegiance is with the Maize and Blue. But before and after that game, I get excited when MSU does well.

Ah... Well not really. The Big Ten really sucked this year and we I knew it was going to be a rebuilding year. People forget that Kirk Cousins was 6-6 his first year starting so I kind of expected a similar record this year. With the best teams in the conference ineligible, the Big Ten is a joke. We'll see how you play against a real team come bowl season. If I remember MSU beat someone in the SEC last year when UM went to a pretty watered down Sugar Bowl.
