This Bronco did not make it easy on me. To be fair I made it hard on myself. I made a critical error in my parts order and it cost me.

It's amazing how such small details can cause such major headaches. It's great to see it moving under it's own power. Congrats.

wow to be honest I fell off the matt garage train when you sold the last bronco, at that time i started my own build from a rust bucket and replaceing every chunk of body bit by bit, and found nashville and duffs and another one that would have been really helpfull jason and jonie builds. and now that i found this episode its like what have i been missing. when i started watching your first build really gave me good feel what to look for and possibly avoid and i been driving my bronco a good 3 years now, its my pride and joy. thanks for the content and I will have to be going back and watch the last few years.

Awesome, Matt! It is so cool that you are unafraid to show the difficulties of doing your own build! There are so many things that I had to tear apart and put back together, I have done my best to forget about them! Knowing you have similar situations helps me know I am not alone! The Bronco looks and sounds amazing. Great job!

You are definitely not alone! It does sound good in person but a little loud for my old ears.

Here are a few tips that I use on a daily basis - I get 3 bellhousing bolts that are 2-3" longer for the 3 and 9 o-clock positions and one for the top left. These act a guide to keep the trans 'square" to the block. I also have the transmission in 3rd or 4th gear so that I can spin the output shaft which will then spin the input so it will line up with the clutch pressure plate ( instead of trying to spin the transmission) in your case with the transfer case already mounted you would spin the rear yoke. Let's hope you dont need these tips for this project any time soon.

Those are all great tips! Thanks. I’m sure I’ll need it soon. I need to pull the ax15 in my TJ to hunt for a leak.

Been there done that..lesson is match the flywheel or flexplate to year of your engine not transmission. 3 or 4 bolt harmonic balancer is an indicator. Advance your timing and lower your idle to stay within transfer slot idle circuit. Idle screws are useless after 2 or 3 mm of opening from closed.
@MattsGarage
@MattsGarage 16 күн бұрын
I’m having the opposite problem. The idle speed screw is all the way out, as in not touching the cam. Maybe I have my timing to advanced. I have it at 10°, but people say it should be closer to six or 8°.

@@MattsGarage Beautiful Job on the Bronco , Love the content. I have an AvS 2 650 on a hopped up 289 but its soo rich. With the exhaust leak and the stock calibration. Good call on the 500 cfm. I'm gonna change jets and rods to the smallest jet and fattest Rod . And minimum accelerator pump setting and blue step up spring. Work my way up.

Nice build! Did you do a one inch body lift to fit the AX15?
@MattsGarage
@MattsGarage 13 күн бұрын
Thanks! No I think the ax15 might have fit without it. The main reason for the body lift was to clear the fuel pump fittings on the Tanks Inc PA-2 retrofit pump. I could have recessed it but I’m ok with a slight lift. I bought fillers pieces from Duff (I think) that I still need to bodywork and paint.
