I can't believe they both gave this a thumbs up, it was a vehicle for Bo Derek and her braids and beads had more acting talent and presence than her. The whole, love/physical attraction trope--- he's in his 40s and still hasn't differentiated the two. This whole movie was about Bos tits--i was a kid when it was released and I remember that's pretty much why everyone went to it, no one knew or gave a shit what it was about. John Derek made a few films with his wife, all of them filmed around her nude (Bolero) scenes.

Yeah, I snuck into this as a young teen for the same reason and was actually bored silly by the film. Not enough of Bo's you know what.

I think the movie is pretty overrated. I liked its message at the end but the rest of it for me just wasnt all that funny. Blake Edwards Pink Panther films and Breakfast at Tiffany's were a better use of his talent and Dudley Moore was better in Arthur 2 years later.

Did Blake Edwards have a rule in his screenplays that a guy has to fall into a pool or fountain in every picture?

This movie isn’t so easy to search for…why didn’t they take more care for SCO in the late 1970s?!

On a scale of one to ten, 10 is a five.

The movie "10" certainly has that basic romantic formula (Blake Edwards' films have that sort of chemistry), for those who are going through serious changes in a relationship, regarding another young man or woman in their lives. One moment in this film, you see Dudley Moore become so romantically involved with Bo Derek, while becoming a "real sh*t" to Julie Andrews (by giving her less attention, the "broads vs. hookers" argument ignoring her phone calls, and partying with nudists), the next moment, he then realizes his ultimate mistake and then reunites with Andrews, later in the end. This kind of film has that certain relationship map, of how one should not be so heavily focused on younger people (especially if they have just been married recently), and concentrate more on who they really want to be with, for the rest of their lives.

No, Bo Derek's character in the movie didn't have anything meaningful to say, but that was the whole point...she was all beauty and no brains. Why Blake Edwards made her cluelessness so extreme. So you buy it she wasn't what he wanted at all after all, as he discovers. So he goes back to Julie.

That's basically what Mr. Edwards expected for her character to be like. After all, some of his movies do happen to have some of his characters act that way at certain times.

Wait a minute. They gave 2 Thumbs Up for this Trite stuff and not for All that Jazz (1979)? These guys were hacks! Typical Mid-Westerners with No Taste for A-R-T!

I have to disagree with both the film.is a basic romcom with Bo Derek (attractive for the time but not much screen presence) And Dudley Moore with that same schtick he had basically run it to the ground. Big No from Me! And Jebus to even put Pink Panther in the same sentence as this tripe is criminal 🙄 This is one of the most over rated Romcoms in history of Film. It's blatant use of soft focus an slow mo shots is ridiculous. And none of Moore's performance is really all that great the plot is basic pap. None of it feels like real life

Yeah I agree. Didnt find anything special here and not sure how it became a big hit. Blake Edwards made better films including most of the Pink Panther series and Breakfast at Tiffany's while Dudley Moore was much better used two years later in Arthur. Not a bad film, just not a great one.

@@spencer10182 and them saying it's better and funnier than the "Pink Panther" films is blasphemous

@@ghostwolf1435 Completely agree. All Pink Panther films were far funnier and more memorable than anything in 10.
