The king and queen are in the house! I think of them as being the face of live raptor camera coverage. I remember watching this the other day. There had been a Stellar's Jay earlier in the day who was really tossing the nest trying to find bits to eat or steal. Jays are notorious robbers. Always nice seeing these two. I can't tell them apart, but what is the mark on the right side of the bill on one of them?

Hello there! Our primary goal is always Jackie and Shadow’s safety and nesting process. When repairs are needed we perform them during the off-season, when Jackie and Shadow's visits to the nest are infrequent, and in accordance with all regulations and guidelines. The nest and habitat are on Forest Service land. Performing repairs is complex because multiple permits are needed

Hi there! Here is some good info for you as well as a video that may help. Have fun! Jackie is noticeably larger than Shadow, in fact female bald eagles are 25% to 33% larger than the males. Jackie’s beak is also longer and thicker from top to bottom. It’s easier to learn how to tell them apart if you start when they are side by side. Hello! Eagles are compulsive nest builders and are known to have several nests in their habitat. They have been working on the alternative nest for a couple of years now. Hope this helps!
