@@mattf4313 I think the key for me is whether or not said grind can be achieved organically. When a grind forces you to do something atypical counterintuitive, simply for the achievement, I check out pretty quickly.

When I played Skyrim, I did Master Criminal and the vampire achievements simultaneously, then reloaded an earlier save and continued on my journey

I'm not sure why anyone would do this achievement and not save before hand. Get the chivo, reload your game, and get on with whatever you where originally doing.

Exactly this. I hated being a vampire. Controls and powers were so dumb and wonky. Grind out the achievement, load the safety save, and never have to do it again.

I played through BL2 over ten times and I only saw Jimmy Jenkins once. So it is rare, but I believe there is a certain container with a higher chance of spawning the robot.

The boxes in the Wildlife Preserve are a good spot in you're gear farming there

I actually really liked the Dishonored achievement. It was fun. After having played the game normal, then on a complete Chaos run just causing absolute destructive mayhem, then going on a pacifist run, which was actually by far harder, the run I did after where I used no powers at all felt really fun. It felt like playing Assassins Creed in 1st person back when Assassins Creed was still in its Ezio days. Plus it helped me explore the world and find all those hidden routes more. The Borderlands one came as a shock though. I remember accidently running into Jenkins while just doing runs for legendaries on Hyperion

Master criminal is one of the first achievements or trophies I get on each version of skyrim. Run through carriages to open up fast travel at all the holds. Save. Then go one by one getting a bounty, running away til you can travel, doing the next hold, then reloading once it pops.

The BL2 Jimmy Jenkins is easy to farm though. The clip you use showing him spawn is even at the farm location. It's during the wildlife exploitation quest line. Those 4 boxes are guaranteed loot midgets and it has a high chance of spawning Jenkins.

All of the Kameo Fighter trophies from Mortal Kombat 1. It's a great game but those trophies force you to grind for hours with 5 different Kameo fighters to get their levels maxed out. It takes several hours just to max one of them out!

I love achievement hunting, yet I don't like playing Multiplayer, and forget those achievements... and at times if the achievement is time consuming or aggravating. I will leave it alone even if it's the last achievement for me 100% a game I did that other day because it was something long and would give me a headache

LEGO 2K Drive - Having to drive 6,000 miles in game which takes several days of grinding. Dodged a bullet there since i like playing LEGO games but this one isn't TT and is a racing game. I always HATE the races in LEGO games so playing a game that's just races would be annoying.

Lego 2k Drive could have been such a great game but was in my opinion ruined by the live service concept (for a 60$ game specially worse) and kind of a lame world and characters. Yeah the creator mode is freakin incredible and lots of fun but when it comes to the actual racing, I oddly prefer the very first lego racers game

I found mostly flesh and steel a very fun one to do. I just started a high chaos run. maxed out the pistol and shot everything. If anything, it's easier than a normal run

:D Nice. I Actually ONLY played Dishonored 2 to try the 'No Powers' Run. I personally LOVE stealth games and that was a HUGE challenge to finish without powers. I was seeing if i could actually do a rather rare achievement at the time. I've literally never tried it "normal" . But i can see what you mean.

I didnt really think Mostly Flesh and Steel was a hard achievement. I did it together with Clean Hands/Ghost/Shadow (no kills/no detections) fairly easily

For me, the achievement that made my love for a game turn slightly bad belongs to the Achievement called A True Hero for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet "A True Hero" achievement is unlocked for beating SAO: Fatal Bullet and getting The True Ending To unlock the true ending you need to Beat the game once (preferably with the Good Ending) Finish Kirito Mode (unlocked after Chapter 12 or 13) Reach Affinity Level 4 with the new cast (Kuruha, Zelska, Itsuki and ArFA-sys) Reach at least Affinity Level 2 with the original cast (Kirito, Asuna, Premiere, Strea, Philia, Rain, Klein, Leafa, Sinon, Lisbeth, Silica, Agil, Argo, Yuuki and Yui) Collect the arFA-sys pendent (awarded after beating Kirito mode before Chapter 12) Play all the way up to the final boss, choose the path of the Good Ending, if done correctly, the final mission will be called Fatal Bullet Fight the boss up until halfway, he will then use a move that is a instant-kill, if you fail to stop him by stunning him by dealing enough damage If you do this, kill the boss, fight the true final boss, thats the true ending done What makes this annoying is if you are unable to stop the boss from using his attack If you dont stop him, the game will play out the Good Ending as normal, you will then need to rewind time when Akihiko Kayaba asks if you want too and you will go all the way back to Chapter 9 Luckily you dont need to do the affinity levels or get the pendant again, you just need to play up to the boss again To stun this boss, you need to at least output damage between 600,000 DPS to 1,000,000 DPS which means you have to grind a lot of materials to upgrade weapons that deal high damage againts mechs but if your like me who put most skills into ballistic weapons, you are gonna have a bad time The game doesnt hint at a true ending at all and if you do the good (or Bad) ending and accept it, your savefile is then deleted, meaning you have to play the game from scratch all over again The only benefit for doing this is because the canon Story DLC's take place following the True Ending's events of the base game This took me 2 and a half years of grinding, burn out and grinding again This achievement is also considered a rare achievement On Xbox, it has a percentage rate of 2.07% of players that have this achievement and is only worth 70 GAMERSCORE The game is amazing, Highly recommend it but if you're not bothered about achievements or doing 100% completion or something, DO NOT attempt this ending, it's difficult, just watch it on KZbin

Jimmy Jenkins is a farmable being who drops the best gear in the game as long as you only open 3 of the 4 boxes found in the video footage shown here in this video inside the Hyperion Research Center. Getting the achievement for killing him is nothing when you know that the community actively farms him from the one spot where he's often the most to spawn. You just need to know that opening all of the boxes in that area will break the run. Open 3, kill him if he spawns, exit to the character select screen, come back in and repeat.

I love the achievement Manifest Destiny. What a sobering reminder of extinction, tied to a condemnation of the cruelty of the American Manifest Destiny movement. Honestly, it gives me chills.

Tiberium Wars actually takes place from 2047 to 2049, which is the timeframe of the Third Tiberium War during the Tiberian timeline in Command & Conquer. There are a total of five (canon) significant conflicts in the Tiberian timeline, those being the Second World War lasting until 1952 (Red Alert), the First Tiberium War lasting from 1997 to 2000 (Tiberian Dawn/Renegade), the Second Tiberium War which lasted throughout 2030 (Tiberian Sun), the Firestorm Crisis which occurred in early 2031 (Firestorm), and, as previously mentioned, the Third Tiberium War, which lasted from late 2047 to at least early 2049 (Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath).

For me, the online tournament trophies of Street Fighter 6 kinda killed my enthusiasm for the game. I know I'm not great at fighting games, but being reminded of that by being pummeled into the ground before I can blink just isn't fun. Hopefully one day there's an option to host private tournaments, because my chances for getting the platinum pretty quickly went out the window 🙆‍♂️

I did it a week ago when there was that Chipotle tournaments event, you could sign in for the tournaments twice a day and it took me many days by winning 1 or 2 matches each time.

Master Criminal can be done faster by first making a base save... have the ability to transform into a werewolf, go to a hold, transform... which gets you a 1000 bounty instantly, break out. Rinse and repeat till you have 1000 bounty in all holds, get the achievement, reload the first save (you haven't been collecting anything at this point, so who cares?)

Final Fantasy IX Bloodlust, King of Jump Rope, Follow your nose, Another man’s treasure, found in the shuffle, it’s all in the cards 3 and the ultimate sword. This list has the most time consuming list of trophies in a Final Fantasy game if you do it with out the use of scripts or other cheats.

For me it's the "truly Awesome" trophy in rayman legend. Could not touch the game for at least two years after that. Basicly you have to get highest rank in the game, you usely get it by playing and completing the game... except for the last, for this one you have to level up by beating the online challenges, two daily and two weekly. Depending on how good you do, the more exp you get with diamond being the highest.... first of, this takes freakin months, and that on a daily basis, you have to play rayman every day for months to get enough exp to get the final rank, thanks also to the fact that you are ranked against other players which makes gold very hard and diamand (also thanks to cheaters) downright impossible. Combine that with the fear that the trophy even could be glitched and not even pop if you reach the final rank. Luckely I got the trophy but that just the fear for it made the whole situation worse. This trophy really ruined an over all fantastic game for me. Also there are two trophies where you have to beat a friends score in challenges, which only could get by making a second account. Stop with online trophies in single player games and stop assuming that friends always play the same games.

Nah, man, Master Criminal was piss easy. What you do is have all the main capitals unlocked (nice and easy), have good armour and good stamina, and get ready for a single sitting grind. You slaughter enough guards to get to 1000 gold, run away until you can fast travel, go to the next capital, slaughter, run, fast, repeat. Then just reload a save from before it happened! (hence "single sitting"). I got it on 360, vanilla base game no DLC, in about 30 minutes. ^^

The inclusion of Jenkins from bl2 is weird for me. Every experienced player spends time at those boxes, for hundreds of runs, meaning anyone going for that achievement likely already encountered Jimmy.

Eh, I don't think Rise of the White Sheep (or any of those achievements from Europa/Crusader Kings/Stellaris style Paradox games) belong here. They don't ruin your save going for them - you start a new game with those achievements specifically in mind. You aren't thinking "I'm going to get the White Sheep achievement then keep having a normal game"; you start a new game with the plan of getting the White Sheep achievement, and once you get it, you're done (unless you actually feel like continuing).

I always do a no kills, ghost run on my first playthrough of a Dishonored game. I add no powers on my second run. And I always try to keep encounters to a minimum, meaning if I can avoid a stealth take down, no matter how ridiculous the effort, I do it. I have a weird idea of fun.

The Master Criminal trophy/achievement is easy; just make a save before you do it and before you do it, just have all 9 holds major cities unlock so you can fast travel to them. If you're a werewolf or a vampire. Stand in front of an unmoving guard and transform in front of them. You instantly get a 1,000 Septim bounty on your head. Once you're done, reload your save after the trophy/achievement pops. It takes 10 minutes.

For eu4 the achievements are of course compounded in difficulty/frustration by forcing you to play on ironman mode to be eligible for achievements. At least White Sheep has a short time limit so if you mess up you've not screwed up a full run.

Multiplayer achievements are always bad, but honestly I feel like achievements ruin most games anymore. Its no longer a "o hey cool I found this thing" and is a "well, time to load up a collectible map so I can check off the boxes". Optional, sure, but lets face it, seeing the greyed out achievements is a pain for many of us and many games aren't worth a 2nd playthrough to get them then, thus ruining the experience of the game as a whole. Not to mention that often the playtime in many games is 90% achievement hunting and the rest is the main story in many AAA games. Persona 5 Royal is a good example of achievements done right, obtainable in one playthrough, doesn't require you to 100% everything, only difficult one is to defeat the Reaper and even then there are ways to easily beat that fight. Also I'm not a fan of the get all the different ending achievements, some like Baulder's Gate aren't so bad because the game has enough to do to go through multiple playthroughs instead of save scumming to get different ending screens. But some games the split in the endings is so early on (or don't allow multiple saves per game aka Dark Souls) can get tedious. Again many games aren't worth a second playthrough, let alone 6+ playthroughs. Also brings in Mass Effect and needing to have a companion for X% of the game and beat the game as class X, just annoying since sometimes those companions/classes are just horrible >_>

For me it was two of skyrim's achievements, the first required you to kill a gold dragon. The first thing you need to do is get to level 80, because thats when gold dragon's start spawning. The problem with that is there's no reason to get to level 80 because at maximum you'll probably complete the game by level 50. And even when you get to level 80 you then need a dragon to spawn. It took my grinding for around 2-4 hours to get to level 80, and that was grinding stealth and then resetting my skill-tree over and over. The other was the achievement for becoming the thieve's guild guildmaster, which required you to first finish the thieve's guild questline, then complete a major heist in each guild, which itself requires you to complete around 4-5 radiant thieve's guild quests in that specific hold before you can do the heist, however the radiant quests can end up holds you've already gotten the 4-5 quests in or completed the big heist in, so you literally need to reject that quest of it's not for a location you need to go toand keep asking for quests until random chance gives you a hold you need, then once you've done that you also need to complete the crown, which requires you to find the 25 gems scattered around skyrim., which you can only do if you choose to do this early enough in the main quest as some gems are located in places you go to as part of quests that become locked once you leave. Once you've done all of that you get the achievement. it's not hard but it was just so tedious for me to get them and took around 8 hours total to finish.

It's not a gold dragon it's an ancient dragon, and I feel you I actually found an Exploit online because after doing just about everything I was only 73. If you want to grind quickly get uh 100% magic cost reduction through equipment on alteration I think. Double cast telekinesis on something, without letting go open the fast travel menu and fast travel as far away as you can, then Legendary the skill and repeat I got 2 levels every time I think. The Thieves Guild one isn't hard just a little time consuming. Also what the heck are you talking about with the crown? Do you mean the 24 Stones of Barenziah? Those have absolutely nothing to do with the Thieves Guild Questline to become Guildmaster. Whatever the hell you were doing that for, somebody misinformed you, because that's a side quest. Once you complete 5 jobs in the 4 major holds, and the job you get after, you just get another quest for the intiation ceremony. I have 100% of the trophies in the legendary edition on PS3, the version with all the dlcs, and I still don't have that quest done, and I've never seen a single guide say it was required.

The Skyrim one is super easy. Barely an inconvenience. You just have to make a save file before you start, then reload that save after you've gotten the achievement. Consequences erased.

you can still get bisons in rdr 1 after killing the 20 in great planes go to the indian reservoir in tall tress, set out bait, some bisons will spawn after killing the ones in great plains, their value skyrockets

Master Criminal is the only achievement for base game Skyrim I don't have, because it just doesn't make sense to me. I don't like getting caught, thus I try to avoid it. I don't want an "achievement" for being a crap crim, who gets busted everywhere they go do crimes. Online also has ingame cheevs for paying 100.000 gold to EITHER the Thieves guild OR guards for fines, and escaping guards 100 times. That's a lot of effort to put into being bad at thievery and other assorted mayhem.

If your going to pick a Skyrim trophy that affects playstyle then its gotta be bringing the thieves guild back to its height. Possibly dozens of small of quests which are 10 times more difficult for those like me in my first playthrough who put little in sneak but lots in heavy armour and two handed

Come on most people trying to get that Skyrim achievement probably did what I did by saving right before you attempt it getting a bounty in every hold popping the achievement then reloading to the earlier game state.

Any game that requires you to die X number of times. Especially if the game isn't particularly challenging in the first place. The Ascent springs instantly to mind. Totally counterintuitive and sucks all the fun out of it. Turned my last couple of weeks with the game into a horrific grind of, load up, run at an enemy, wait for them to kill me, rinse and repeat. 100 TIMES! 🤮 Got it in the end, but that final trophy has made it so that I'll never so much as look at the game again.

(Fallout: New Vegas) Meat of Champions. Player must (yes, through like cannibalism or some such) eat NCR president Aaron Kimball, Caesar, The King, and Mr. House. While this DOES reward you with a perk that increases your SPECIAL stats after cannibalizing more corpses, this more likely than not, will lock you out of your desired endgame results. Pretty much recommended only for those who wish to side with Yes Man on a strictly evil playthrough of the game. Did it before, and as amusing as it was, didn't feel like it was worth it at the time.

Glad to see Dishonoured here at number 1 because it is the literal only achievement list that I spied that made me just quit the game. It wasn't the difficulty, I've beaten Ninja Gaiden Sigma max difficulty with Master Ninja on every level. It's that the Dishonoured achievements were so damn boring and bullshit, especially when you try to do it on a first playthrough. It actually turned me off from the entire franchise.

Ive never heard odd the hexer achievement, i have DA 1 ,DA2 and DAI platinum trophies and i never played a mage mow than once because that's all you need is complete once with each class not 4 times as a mage.

2:20 this one's not actually that bad. Once you've beaten a boss in Furi it is significantly less of an issue to beat that boss again. Still sucks, but it's not like you need to grind those bosses for hours to get back to The Song.

Time consuming trophies are not hard, they just take time to earn. You wont get it after 10 minutes of play time which is the point. People need to learn the difference. (Talking about a certain GTA 4 trophy).

Nah, the Dishonored achivement was fun. It makes you play the game differently and will cause you to explore paths you likely didn't even notice on a previous playthrough, showcasing the great level design. This paired with the fact that Dishonored is meant to be replay makes the achivement good as it encourages that, and it makes it like you're playing a different game but not in the meaning of ""worse inferior version of the basic game".

The Spore one isn't really a game ruiner... Once you get peace with them you can fly right to the center of the galaxy and win the game.

the master criminal acheivment doesnt really belong on here as while 'yes' in theory it could ruin the game...all you have to do if all you want is the cheivo is save, kill spree across the 9 holds, then once the acheivment pops, reload your save from before you started.

As someone who did challenge accepted in bl2, in 41 hours.. I can assure you JJ is the least of your worries, the climbing challenge in 1000 cuts and the vault symbol in terra's lair is far far worse. Number 1 LOLOLOL been there done that. You make a stealth playthrough sound impossible, piffffffffff do the bloody challenges in the dlc's those are hard, flesh and steel is easy. Want to know whats harder, a no kill playthrough of dishonored for the achievement.

For the Skyrim trophy that's easy just save before you commit those crimes then just reload that save once the trophy pops.

Seriously 2.0 and 3.0 made me hate gears of war especially 3.0 since it was all online multilayer acheivments. What really killed me was I ended up losing the account from a hacker that i met boosting kills along the way and don't even have the achievements to show for it anymore. I pledged to never touch gears again 😂

The Master criminal achievement for Skyrim is not as bad as the narrator makes it out to be. Going to jail in Skyrim only resets your skill progress to the next level; You don't lose skill levels like in Morrowind or Oblivion, so the penalty is rather minimal.

Dead Island's Right 4 life trophy. Complete act 1 with 4 different characters....but the trophy is so buggy it took me 9 characters to get it to finally pop. I did all four characters twice through chapter 1 and on my ninth try with the Asian chick it finally popped. 9 bloody runs through chapter 1 with 4 characters. I doubled and then some for this stupid buggy game.
