I would like to see a video from you dedicated to ways to hide clutter. I live in a very small apartment and clutter is a constant battle. Thanks Drew!
@ourcozycorner85179 ай бұрын
I wonder if you could go for a maximalist style. It may not be the perfect solution, but the clutter may not stand out as much. Just a random thought, but I once made the mistake of going for a minimal look while I lived in a tiny apartment & instead it always felt cluttered with things I needed - it seemed to make it worse. But when you look at a lot of places with more of a layered maximalist style you almost never notice “clutter”.
@TheP1x3l9 ай бұрын
@ourcozycorner8517 A lot of clutter items aren't decorative or pleasant to look at though, and I think this would just intensify how crowded a space feels. You still have to be intentional with maximalism. The solution this person is looking for is getting creative with storage.
@zulemaalamo48638 ай бұрын
Perhaps storage bins under the bed , I keep all my appliances in a cabinet from Amazon and a seasoning wheel for perfumes and in the kitchen for seasonings nice storage containers from Aldi or home goods it won’t look like clutter.
@kayelle80058 ай бұрын
Even in small spaces people have more items than they want or need. First step declutter what you can. Second look at organisation solutions that suit your organising style - take the clutterbug quiz to find out whether you are visual or hidden and micro or macro. Store like items with like items to get a better sense of where you have unnecessary duplicates. All the best.

Great tips here! Just bought a rug for under my queen bed. I spent a long, long time looking at rugs and made sure I went to the store to feel the rug. The rug I chose is so cushy and soft under my feet.. I step on it every morning so needed to make sure it was going to feel good each and every day... that's true luxury to me!
@marissabulso64394 ай бұрын
Beautiful! I feel like designers (not necessarily Drew, just a general thing I’ve noticed) do sometimes ignore how rugs feel underfoot, which to me is even more important than the look of the rug! True luxury is finding a rug that feels great, looks great, and functions well (durability and cleaning). 😌

Fabulous video. I think removing the glass of a picture does indeed make it look better, but exposure to the air can degrade paper over time (think of yellowed newspapers). If a work on paper is something valuable, you can get "museum glass" at a custom-frame shop. Museum glass is specially formulated to have no glare, and it also protects from UV rays. It's pricey, but worth it if the art is something really special.

Great tips! May I also add hanging your curtains “high and wide”? Amazing how much classier a room looks by raising the rod up (I usually do a few inches from the ceiling) and further out from the side frame of the windows to give the illusion of larger windows. And if you have to buy new curtain panels to kiss the floor (or puddle, if you like a more traditional, luxe look), Amazon and other retailers have such inexpensive options these days. All of my drapes are either velvet or sheer, faux linen cheapies with an equally cheapie roman shade behind them but they look more expensive than they are. And please for the love of all things holy (hole-y?) skip the grommet curtains. Try tab backs and then you have the option of putting them directly into the pole or using clip on rings which is what I’ve done. I understand even, say, a $100 investment is out of reach for some - totally get it - but this is an easy upgrade to try if you can swing a little budget-wise.
