I'm impressed. I used to do this before I bought my hydraulic vehicle lift and hydraulic lift table. One thing I would have done differently would be to loosen both frame bolts on the passenger side and completely remove the frame bolts on the driver's side......... support the weight with a jack and lower the frame as much as needed.

The infamous csc issue, I didn’t know they put these in the Altimas. The 370z and Infiniti g35/37 have this issue

Great Video, I don't see any about the 07-12 altima manuals so this helps alot. I do have a question in regards to the shifter cables removal from selector on top of trans. How did you remove them? I know 1 cable has a clip you pry up similar to the clutch slave line but the other cable I had problems removing as I was trying to pry it up with a flat head lol I just didn't want to break it .

Did you figure it out? Mine looks like it might clear but I’m not sure.. still need to start removal of transmission
@michaelwiblin27682 жыл бұрын
@@hunterbrandal807 Just put a pry bar underneath and pry it upwards. It is a plastic bushing that pops onto a steel ball on the shift selector. Much easier to re-install as you just line up ball with opening and push downwards.

Hi I believe my clutch is bad I do smell a rotten egg kind of smell I go into first gear and the car pretty much does nothing it does accelerate but super slow I can pretty much let off the clutch and not have it stall in first gear 2011 Nissan Altima 3.5sr would I just try replacing the clutch?
@matthewwilliams9034 Жыл бұрын
So you stated you did removed the back left, front left, and front right subframe bolts but back right bolt was left in, but then said no subframe bolts were removed. So did you just loosen those 3 or remove those 3 subframe bolts? i'm about to do this job and don't want to drop engine and trans.

I recall I remove them on the trans side. You can see in the video

Hey brother I just did this the exact way you showed but not have a no crank no start issue I don't understand why do you have any ideas
@megatonesilva65462 жыл бұрын
Older comment, but for those who need to know: No crank, no start after doing a job like this means that the end of the negative battery cable did not get reattach to it's anchor point.......it's anchor point is on top of the transmission and it is secured with a 13mm bolt.

My clutch just lost pressure and I vaguely smelled a burned smell. The church reservoir is full but the brake reservoir is empty. Does that mean I burned my clutch out?
@partsshooter4 жыл бұрын
if it starts and you can place it into 1st gear-release the clutch- and no action then your clutch is bad.
@louie86294 жыл бұрын
@@partsshooter the clutch is all the way to the ground. I thought the reservoir was empty but it's not. I can't push the clutch in because like I said it's all the way to the ground. The car starts in neutral and if I put it in gear first.
@partsshooter4 жыл бұрын
@@louie8629 ok... No pedal pressure! Try removing the pressure hose at the slave cylinder on transmission, plug that end, or run a hose into itself at reservoir, make an attempt to bleed and see if it holds pressure when end is then plugged. May need a helper... The objective is to isolate from slave cylinder to narrow culprit Check between the transmission and engine to make sure you're not losing fluid.
@louie86294 жыл бұрын
@@partsshooter I briefly checked to see if fluid was leaking and I didn't see any. Does it sound like the clutch or is it too hard to tell?
@louie86294 жыл бұрын
@@partsshooter is it expensive to change the clutch in a 05 Altima? I had my clutch go out on my check caviler and was told to just junk the car because it was too much work to put in a new clutch.

He said 700$ for the clutch set, i get it way cheaper and a good brand i wonder were you located.

Great video!! Was this the 2.5 or 3.5 engine and if it's the 2.5 will this be the same for a 3.5?
@megatonesilva65462 жыл бұрын
It's the 2.5L engine.

Did you remove the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter? Is the transmission connected to the subframe or just held by the transmission mount and the 10 bolts (transmission to motor and motor to transmission bolts)? Would appreciate your reply. Thanks
@partsshooter5 жыл бұрын
The exhaust downpipe was dropped and hanger, no cat removed. Remove Bolts around the bell housing. mount supporting transmission was held in at passenger side wheel well
@jun_12485 жыл бұрын
customhonda what is wheel well, are you talking about the mount under the car near the oil pan? In the video you mentioned that sub frame bolts were removed from drivers side rear and front and passenger side front. Did you put them back so the bell housing can rest on it? Thanks a lot for your earlier reply.
@partsshooter5 жыл бұрын
@@jun_1248 some of the transmission mount bolts [fasteners] are located where the wheel sit, essentially the wheel well will be the inner fender or fender well...where the strut sits byb the tire. Follow the engine mount around that area, that's the general area to remove trans mount bolts. Loosen the subframe bolts to gain enough Clarence for the transmission to rest, the trans have to be strategically placed to optimise Clarence.
@oneshawnsay2 жыл бұрын
How did you separate the clutch housing from the engine? I removed all the bolts and it won't budge. Anyone have any suggestions?
@partsshooter2 жыл бұрын
Clutch housing? You mean Bell housing (transmission) or pressure plate?

@@partsshooter The manual refers to it as the transaxle assembly.

Can You do the same for an 05 Altima?
@partsshooter4 жыл бұрын
If it's a 2.5l I'd imagine so. I'm not 100 percent sure if the subframe is the same, however I can't help but to think, common sense wise -if the engines the same, subframe is similar
