I really enjoy your videos! My son is three years old and has autism. Working with him to get words out is always difficult but the simple tips you give are really approachable and gentle. Whenever I’m feeling overwhelmed and like I’m not doing enough your videos always give me that boost I need to always try more and new things with him!

You might consider The National Geographic Board books. As a former primary teacher and a grandparent, I find these non-fiction books are very engaging and will grow with your child. Thank you for your vlogs. It's an important resource for so many. And thanks for the free language milestone printables. I appreciate what you do!

Little Blue Truck has long been a fav for our family. And for each kid too! And anything touch and feel, with flaps etc. Great tips and book suggestions . Especially good idea to narrow the visual field! We are going to try that with our first 100 words book for sure. Poke A Dot was new for us, so I will definitely be purchasing soon! And maybe that itsy spider one too, we always need more books. :))

YESS!! Thanks for sharing! This week, my son picked up the Very Hungry Caterpillar and his favorite page is the one with the cocoon. We say, "Wow, now the caterpillar is BIIIIG!!" and we spread our hands out wide to exaggerate the word "big" and so he has started to say the word "BIG" and stretching out his hands this week. So cute!

I have a 16 month old daughter who is still not saying any words. She is a very bright, happy little girl and loves to play, laugh, and snuggle all the time. She walked when she was 9 months old and seems to have met all her milestones. She is still not talking though....should I be worried?
@LearnWithAdrienne
@LearnWithAdrienne 4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Well...since I haven't met your daughter, I can't tell you if you should be worried or not. She sounds delightful and sweet. :) It sounds like you are doing a great job of looking for resources that will help your daughter learn to talk! You are definitely on the right track. After reading through your specific question, there are so many things that you can try to help your her talk more. In my KZbin videos, I teach a variety of strategies to help children learn to talk, but in my online class for children, I teach much more in-depth, revealing the actual step-by-step system I use with my own speech therapy clients to get them from saying only a handful of words to talking in sentences and having conversations. My online class is structured with checklists and printouts where you can track your child's progress. So zooming out, my KZbin videos teach the “what” and my online class teaches the “how.” The goal of the online class is to give you the skills needed to plug in the speech strategies into your daily life with your child and to implement the building blocks, strategies, and concepts during meal time, car riding time, play time, outdoor time, etc. Here is more info about the class so you can see if it would be a good fit for what you are looking for with your daughter. The Steps to Help Your Child Learn To Talk: www.learnwithadrienne.com/steps-to-help-your-child-learn-to-talk Hope that helps! :)

It's not a habit... Kids learn through senses and tasting it is one of them. They want to taste and feel everything with their mouth. So you can redirect him to something more appropriate. I honestly don't mind my child leaking, kissing or chewing a bit the books. We have books made of fabric and that's the one he can explore with the mouth. Maybe this could be something for your child? Xxx

Aw, 4 months old! What a sweet age. We have that same "Look Look" book and my son still pulls it out and flips through it. It is a great one that grows with them. Thanks for the encouragement that you enjoy this type of video...I will plan on making more book videos as he grows! Yeah, in regards to Usborne...I wasn't sure either. The books we have bought from them have been a good addition to our bookshelf so far. I like the quality of them and the variety of concepts in the books. They've held up well and I think they'll continue to grow with my son as he gets older. My goal is to instill in him a love of reading, so books are something I do research a lot before buying. Usually, we get lots of books from the library, but with it being closed lately, I've been purchasing more online, which is how I came across Usborne. I can't speak for all their books, but so far, I'm liking the ones we have.
