Either I was too old when I first saw this episode, or my mother's perspective of scarry is what ruined it for me, either way, it didn't scare me. I loved it, and I had not seen many music videos by the time I was 8 years old, I had mostly seen bands perform on stage, but Thriller, had great dances and music. I remember watching the transformation and not being impressed at all, because of the stop-motion animation, but when Ola and Michael walk out ofthe theatre and the beat starts, fuhged aboud it.

In my youth, I recorded the Thriller video from MTV. As I was 11 at the time, it scared me, but considering how young I was the year it was made and released, and it had also appeared on Showtime then, all it took was the glowing eyes to beg my dad to change the channel. Hi Minty, I haven’t seen the full 14 min version of the Thriller music video, but whenever I hear this song, I immediately think of the scene from the 2004 Jennifer Garner movie, 13 Going On 30, where her character is at a corporate party, and the DJ is just playing techno music, and no one is dancing, so she goes up to the DJ and asked him to play Thriller, and then everyone starts dancing. So her boss is very grateful that she saved the party from becoming a disaster. It was a fun movie that you might want to do a video on one day. Thanks, Marc K

The alt lyrics was a bit of a revelation. They really give the song a whole different mystique. It's a darker song and it feels like more's going on between the singer and lover than can be deciphered. Thriller is just light hearted fun, with Vincent Price's vocal, it would have made the more interesting outtake.

12:20 the "See you next Wednesday" line comes from 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY, which had a pretty big impact on Landis. So as a reference, joke and "cameo" of a sort, he has always found a way to worm the phrase into everything he has done. PS: 12:38 the man getting hit by the car and launched through the glass pane is John Landis himself.

As a child, when I was 6 or 7 years old, this long videoclip of Michael Jackson, was my first encounter with horror, where Michael is featuring a werewolf and a zombie, it scared the hell out me, but the clip is still awesome to this day.

And still, all these years after watching American Werewolf, whenever I go on the London Tube (the underground system) it reminds me of the scene with the City gent being chased through the tunnels!!! Especially on the (very, very) rare occasions that no one else is around, and you can just imagine hearing the roar as the Werewolf lunges at his victim!!! A superb film, probably my all time favourite horror!!! Great vid Minty, you sir rock big time!!!

This album was the first I ever owned...on cassette. The making of video was what got me into filmmaking. The video is what got me into horror, and particularly zombies. Last year, I almost had the opportunity to work with Ola Ray on a horror film. Sadly, because the director didn't want to pay SAG (screen actor's guild) dues, we were unable to use SAG actors.

No,no,no,Thriller didn't launch MJ into stardom,he was already a star from the age of 5 yrs old. No,Thriller...or as Brits and Aussies say it..Thrillah(HA!You know that's true!,Haha!)actually launched MJ into music God Hood. Many other artists can and have as much as MJ has but none can even approach the level of outside the box thinking and creativity(YES! I am a MJ fan) that he had when he was popular and even after words too.

Judge......you don't know what the hell you're talking about. The Jackson Five were so damn huge that in 1999 at a Godsmack concert, while the roadie set things up for Godsmack after the opening act, the house music was playing and on came ABC by The Jackson Five. It was a testament to Michael Jackson that this arena full of metalheads sang along to ABC.

"Thriller" was not the first music video to be shown in theatres. The music video for "Ego", a little-known single by Elton John, was shown in select theatres in 1978, though given that it was only a four-minute clip, and Elton's star was on the wane at that time, there was little public appetite for it. There may be other music videos that have been shown in theatres before "Thriller", but that's the only one I know of. Interestingly, "Ego" was the most expensive video clip made at the time of its release, at around $40,000. Obviously, that's been blown out of the water many times since then, but it was seen as extravagant at the time.
